@Mandy, It is! I wasn't too scared when I read book #1, but that doesn't mean this one won't terrify me! lol!! :D

I found book one to be disappointing so I hope that this one is better.

I agree, I was disappointed in book 1 also, and I've heard better things about book 2, plus it's set in a different character's perspective, so I am hoping that will help because I honestly didn't like Mary.

I agree. You have highlighted exactly why I am giving book 2 a chance.

I've seen so much about this book. How did you like book 1? Is it worth my time to try reading 1 and 2 (later). I have too many books going now to fit this in, but maybe someone else will join me reading book 2 a bit later.

well, I loved it, but these books stand well alone
this one is from a different voice and a different time
you don't have to read book 1 to read this one :)

:) yes, they each hold up well on their own and many enjoyed the 2nd one more than the first and even the third more than the 2nd.

I am still on chapter 3. Haven't had much time for reading. Life has been crazy. As I am not far enough in, I reserve judgement on whether I like it better than book 1. I hope to like it better than book 1.

What do you think so far? Do you like it better than book 1?

Yeah, I do like it better. I'm in chapter 15 now and the only problem I'm having is Gabry's character seems a little wishy washy maybe? When you get to this part you can tell me what you think. :D

Then after Cira and Blane talk her into going back for him she's scared, but she makes up her mind to go.

Then when she sees him and he tells her not to come back she tells him that she won't leave him there by himself to die alone.

When she gets back to Vista and Mary asks her to go with her to the Forest she freaks out! She says 'no! I'm to scared!' She said she didn't want to leave Vista. And Mary leaves without her.

Then she goes back to the ruins to find Catcher. (hide spoiler)]

I'm wondering about why all the bodies come up out of the ocean? It's a postapocalyptic world and I think it's probably because the oceans have risen and there are new shorelines so then a lot of people would have died during a huge disaster like that. Well, that is all I can come up with any way.

Also about Gabry (view spoiler)[ Do you think she is immature? I think she is naive, surely, but I'm not sure if immature is word I'm looking for. I just can't get over the fact that when she came back after seeing Catcher and she is clinging to Elias and telling him that he is all she has! She doesn't know him from Adam, so why is she acting like that? And then she was dreaming about him? I don't know, I just think it's all very strange. (hide spoiler)]

She's known him for what, 3 days and already he looks at her like she's everything??? I don't know! I'm not a big fan of insta love and maybe that's not what this is, she said that he is familar to her, but how?? I'm just not getting to that part fast enough to appease my curiousness! It's kind of driving me nuts! I also hate the love triangle! Can't stand it! Hate the way Catcher still like her and she can't decide which one she likes! lol!! (hide spoiler)]
