Why so many negative reviews??

I've seen a lot of mixed (mainly negative)reviews on this book and was wondering what exactly didn't people like?
Because I loved it and can barely contain myself waiting for the next installment.

Because it really wasn't that good. Brilliant idea, flawed execution.

I think Gamebord of the Gods wanted to say too much in little pages, so nothing was developed to its full potential. The relationship between Mae and Justin wasnt't contoured enough, about RUNA wasn't enough information so we can connect it to the plot and the problem with the gods wasn't outliened enough. The truth is that i love Richelle Mead's books because she always presened everything and then she turned the situatuiation. I didn't know the characters enough to make me fall in love with them. Actually, i don't know the characters at all. And i know nothing about the society they live in.

I was expecting Gameboard of the gods because i loved the idea> a society where religion in abolished, with gods that are activly involved in the world. But the book showed little of that.

Actually the book showed little of everyting, therefore it got so many bad reviews.

I can definitely see why people could have found it boring and it did take long to get to the"action" portion, as some say. However, it is one of my favorite books from this year. I liked the realism of the romance. I mean, they sleep together, like real adults do when your attracted to someone (none of this insta teen LOVE or a drawn out romance)then they argued, like real people do, and then they became tempted, again, like real people do. I liked that it wasn't perfect and they seemed very real towards each other. I also thought that as a character, Justin was really honest. He didn't just say he couldn't be with her to protect her, he was selfish and he didn't want to hurt himself. These are the things about the book I liked. I also liked the premise of it and I am biased because I love Richelle's concepts and I love the third person narration. Any who....that's my two cents.

I liked the story, I really don't know what people didn't liked.

John Perhaps you should read their reviews and find out. Got some nerve questioning people for not liking something you did.

Because it was too complicated and yet too vague, the "romance" between Mae and Justin was poorly developed, and it took too long before things got interesting and had you "on the edge of your seat", if you will. So many got bored and didn't even finish it.
