▏Maddox hasn’t been a hunter all his life, not really. Even though it seems like he’s been at it forever, he’s only become a hunter quite recently. He first started the lifestyle a year ago, taking on the species that caused him pain in numerous ways. The reason for his venture into this life is unknown to anyone other than him, but he intends to keep it that way. With his cold exterior, Maddox doesn’t let anyone get close enough to him to hear his story. The closest anyone gets is in range of his gun.

No, you don't XD Haha, but I have to go now. Want to RP when I get back? I'll be gone for about... three hours. I have to go do a drive for driver's training :)
Oh. :/ Well, I have to go because it's required, but do you want me to post or something when I get back and you can reply when you get back on? By the way, how should we start this thing?
Let's just start with him accusing her of using dark sorcery worthy of death. He is hunting down an evil witch but got mistaken?
Okay! Sounds good! Here, I'm going to post before I leave in a few minutes so we can get it rolling. Any specific locale this should happen at? On the streets? Back alley?
((Have to go now! BYE! :D ))It was these kind of deeds that Maddox prided himself in. It was the kind of deed that made him smile with cruel mischief, a glint of murderous glee in his brown eyes. He'd followed her here to this location, his heart racing with anticipation. He'd waited a long time for this, hidden by the shadows of night until the opportunity for murder arose. If Maddox hadn't been so careful and precise in his ways, he would have already done the deed. However, that would have resulted in much less care than he would have liked. He didn't want this to be open to the world of the naive. And, standing now in the shadows of this back alley, Maddox knew this was the perfect moment. Unsuspecting disposition in his sights, Maddox would commit the deed now. The vile witch, cruel and dark in her ways just as he was, would finally come to her long awaited death. Maddox wouldn't allow it to be anything but slow and painful for that was what he'd had to live with. He knew of her treachery to him, what she'd done in the past that caused his motives. He wouldn't let that happen again.
((You are so good!!))It wasn't easy to be a Mage, first you got to carry around a wooden staff and second you got to go around in dress code not that she can help it. Being a grey means you are a symbol of death and with it comes renewal. Grey is of the dust which feeds the forming life of this earth. And Erica had been stuck in it for the last two years. It is taking her patience and her time. She would have been a white by now. She'd helped dozens of people with their sickness. He'd helped people who are asking for rain, she even helped an old woman to cross the street. But nothing happened to her apparel, still dull and sad as a rain cloud.
On her way home she'd picked up some bread and jam for her dinner some eggs too. She walked straight to the back alley-2 short cut to her little rented room.
((Sorry for the short post.. I'm kinda sleepy. ))
((Oh, jeez. Thanks >w< I try.And, it's okay. It was good :) ))
Grim smiles were something Maddox was accustomed to. In nearly every job he accomplished, he liked to show a bit of happiness to the victim's lives he ended. There wouldn't be another opportunity to see him happy. Not only would their lives be ending, bring the glee to an abrupt end, but Maddox never smiled in other situations beside the fact. Only the death he wrought brought the happiness he sought. In life, that was somewhat of the cold killer's motto: kill those in need of punishment for the happiness one deserves. For the past year, Maddox had willfully stuck to that maxim, for there was no other saying he found more true.
Eyes trailing the girl in front of him, Maddox shook his head to himself for his own stupidity. Girl - it wasn't a girl. He'd known a girl once and this wasn't one. No, this was a monster; a cruel-hearted beast that needed to be put down for the safety of everyone around it. She'd committed so many wrongs and it was only justice that she be faced with the black hood of death - or more rather, the glint of his eyes in the darkness. That would suffice for him and he was sure Death himself wouldn't mind. He never did. In Maddox's mind, that was his job. He saw himself as an avenger of sorts, taking down those who deserved death in life. And this witch - this one who had done wrong to so many others including himself - she deserved death more than anything and Maddox was willing to give it to her.
Stepping forward, Maddox allowed himself to stay in the shadows, his footsteps silent. He wasn't going to let himself be seen just yet for that was a part of this silent game he played. The first rule in his little black book: never let thyself be seen until one wishes. And at the moment, Maddox didn't wish that. However, if one were to look closely, pick out the little details that didn't match with the surroundings, his position would be just noticeable. However, Maddox wasn't counting on that. No one ever suspected a killer to be lurking in the shadows, and definitely not one as gruesome as he.
Humming a haunting tune would scare a normal maiden her age, but not her for she isn't normal. She is the grey wizard a step down from a white. She'd killed monsters in her early teens that's why her mother had sent her for an apprenticeship to one of the four mage of the land. The white wizard had thought her many things until she had received her first color. Blue. Her master then sent her from one quest to another to strengthen her in physic as well as in magical knowledge. Most wizards would wait for years to be in her level, but she had surpassed them all. Even her master had praised her for it. Nearing her rented room, she heard the wind's whisper. It brought her scents of a death bringer near her. The man who hunted down witches and monsters had come for her. She stood her ground and tapped her stuff on the alley pavement. It served as a scanner for life surrounding her and immediately she knew where he is.
Maddox, being a somewhat dense and over confidant person, didn't realize that she was acknowledged to his presence. In his mind, she was blissfully unaware of the death he would wrought upon her, slow and unpleasant. But even if she was alerted to his presence, Maddox wouldn't let that serve as any sort of advantage. He'd take that and turn it around. However, Maddox didn't know. So he stayed in the shadows, his hand reaching around to withdraw a silver knife he always kept on him. His most preferred for of weaponry was always a firearm, but he was more than happy to do this with a blade. If he was aiming for slow and painful, that would more than suffice. After all, nothing was more enticing that the thought of a knife running across bare skin. Stepping closer, Maddox was unintentionally testing his limits. She knew of him, even if he didn't. His dark eyes watched her from the darkness, trailing her every move, her every trait. He'd waited a long while for this and it couldn't have been more obvious from the look in his eyes. It was one full of lust, but not for her body. It was more for her soul - the proposition of her death.
Continuing her haunting hum she incorporated the tune with magic calling the wind to help her. She never patronized witches from cursing foolish humans for burning them. Cursing kills the soul and in the process making witches hollow and unafraid he their soul vanish. Erica's magic is of the light. Healing was her virtue and protecting every being with life was her duty. Being a grey make one use the dust of the earth a tool for protection. She had faced many assassins before what would make this man any different? Extremists who do not know the difference between white and black magic. She let her dust float in the air every sensation and contact it had she felt. She felt the sharp edge of his blade with hunger for her flesh and blood. She'll wait for him to attack. Because if he does that, he'll regret it!
Regret was a word that wasn't in Maddox's vocabulary. Though he obviously had to feel it - he was human, after all - he didn't allow it to ever show. There had been times when he'd regretted a decision he'd made or simply felt guilty, but he never showed it to anyone. Or at least, now he didn't. It had been a long time since he'd shown anything to anyone. Now he tended to keep to himself, never letting anyone even close enough to speak to him. Maddox was very much guarded. One small mistake and one's head could be swiped from the neck in one swift motion. That was all it took for him to become irritable. And this was all it took for him to reveal himself. Stepping out of the darkness, Maddox was careless for once. For once, he didn't care whether he was standing in full light and she could see every aspect of his unnecessarily cruel physique. He didn't care whether the knife in his hand was clearly visible, glinting with the gleam of the dim, overhead street lights. He didn't care what happened as long as she met her maker tonight. And, really, she'd already met him. All he needed now was to do the deed.
A wizard can channel her strength to her elements in Erica's case dust was her main element! She can transmogrify it to anything she wishes, in this case she made dust to envelope his body and make it solidify to silver. He couldn't move If he tried. She grinned and finallytturned. "Well look at that another assassin. Don't you people get tired of hunting us down?" She said walking nearer to where he stood frozen. She could hear him grinding his teeth with frustration. She sighed. "I go from town to town healing people and what do I get? Guys like you!"
((Sorry. I'm getting around everywhere and I just got to this one.))Being encased in the stuff, Maddox couldn't move let alone narrow his eyes. However, he most certainly would have if he could. How dare she try something like this on him. Didn't she know who he was? No, of course she wouldn't. No one knew of Maddox unless he let them and, so far, that was no one. No one knew who he was and he'd intended to keep it that way. The only people who had ever gotten close to him had died and it hadn't been at his hand. It had been against his will. Maddox had tried hard not to let it happen, but back then he was no more than a boy with a knife, not the self-trained killer he was now. If only he had been back then, things may have turned out differently.
Never mind that fact, he was here now, this girl in front of him gloating in her obvious self-pride. He didn't get tired of hunting them down, he never would. Maddox felt this was what they deserved: death. He wished so much to speak; or more rather, to lunge forward and swipe the blade against her pale neck. If only he could...
She could sense him trying to maneuver but his pathetic efforts was futile. She murmured a spell, making all the man's killing devices to flowering orchids and wild daisies. Smiling to herself the man looked like a sophisticated flower vase having plants growing from the inside of his cloak. She studied his face and got surprised, the boy looked like her age and is handsome too. now why would a teen aged boy be in the business of assassinating us? Unless... with snap of her finger the silver encasing him cracked near the mouth enabling him to talk. "Who sent you, boy! I don't have silver placed on my head as a reward. You might even put yourself in a lot of danger if you ever did."
((Nah, it's okay :) I'm just going to be really slow today since I have homework to do too. ))Though he was now free to speak, Maddox breathe so much as a whisper. His lips were sealed tight, even if he didn't have any secrets to spill. Or rather, any that pertained to her specifically. Just like any other individual, Maddox had his secrets. There were little things in his past that didn't add up or some stories he hadn't shared with anyone at all. But that was simply Maddox: secretive to the end until he heard the call. He wasn't going to tell her who sent him for he didn't have a definite answer. Who, in fact, had sent him? Fate? Destiny? Himself? Maddox wasn't entirely sure. All he knew was that it hadn't been a specific person other than his own conscious. It was telling him to kill her and that was what he was determined to accomplish. However, though he didn't say a word, it was obvious from his composition that he was anything but happy. Irritable and angered described his every small, nearly unnoticeable gesture. With the silver harnessing his movements, he was incapable of doing anything but glaring. But though it couldn't compare to words, that glare spoke volumes. It spoke of death.

Erica sighed in frustration. "I'm not getting anything from you, am I? " she spoke with pity. Whatever may have happen to the poor lad must been a doing by someone like her, a witch perhaps. She saw hate in his eyes. Hate which condemned him to such cause. "Look, whatever you think I may be, I will not hurt you nor anyone or anything breathingin in this earth. I swear to you that my magic isn't capable of any harm unless I am being attacked. I'm sorry if I made you stiff but I knew you were going to kill me." She placed some of her bread and jam beside him. "you won't be able to move until I am to live town. And you will be trapped in this town until I'm a safe distance away." She said drawing runes on his chest and feet. " please eat the bread and jam. I felt your hunger. Good bye. " moving swiftly She called for her things to pack itself. She then walked away from the town moving east. He might be a blood thirsty boy but his handsome face surely capture her attention.
((That's okay and, question, did she leave town or did she just walk down the street or something? :3 ))
((M'kay :3 ))At first, Maddox had thought about calling out after her. He didn't want her to leave. Not because he was attracted to her or even remotely interested in her kindness, but because he really did want to kill her right then and there. It would have been so easy to, just a slit across the throat and she'd be down. However, it seemed that fate just couldn't be in his favor. She was leaving and there was nothing he could do about it, no words he could do to change what had already occurred. Maddox's sharp brown eyes trailed her as she walked away, her hair swaying behind her. He kept mentally shouting at her to come back, but he knew she couldn't hear him. She never would.
It was a good amount of time when Maddox was finally released from the hold she'd had on him. His muscles relaxed, his breathing coming evenly once again. A small sigh of relief escaped his pursed lips as he went somewhat limp, using the wall next to him as support. He'd hated being in that frozen position for as long as he had. It was physically exhausting standing that straight for such a long interval of time. After regaining his disposition, Maddox stood straight once again, ready to hit the road and get on with tracking her down once again. He didn't care whether she said she was innocent. That was what they all said.
Maddox had just started walking off when he suddenly paused. His eyes looked over his shoulder at the bread and jam she'd left. It was foolish, he thought, for her to want to feed the person who sought her destruction, but he wasn't really complaining. He was, after all, quite famished. Begrudgingly picking up the bread, he went to work consuming it, leaving the jam where it lie. Maddox had always hated the stuff. It was so gross to him. Returning to his walking, he left the place just like that, ready for a kill. He'd find her; he was certain of it.
((But I love jam....who wouldn't want jam?))Erica could easily teleport herself to the next town but She liked travelling on foot. It was one of her training actually. Patience to walk aloneknowing that anytime that savage boy would attack her. Good thing She warded the city's boundary so he wouldn't be able to pass the border. She'll have at least a had start. He master once told her to catch a wild horse and tame it. But all the sick people and those who messenger helped averted herein doing so. Looking at the black forest She smirked knowing the boy would not dare follow her inside her domain.
The black forest welcomedher like a guest. Unfolding it's canopy so she can see the right path towards the next town. Some humans do not know that the elements around are the only ones which channel their energies to the wizard, it is not the wizard's choice but the elements themselves. Wizards are born humans themselves, but nature has picked them to harness their power. Erica could hear the forest purr with her presence and it made her smile to think that among other wizards She is part of a few who is welcomed inside the magical black forest of the east.
((Haha! He's picky like that XD ))Maddox too liked to travel on foot. It was much easier than highjacking some guy's car or picking up a motorcycle on the street. Sure, it would have been faster getting there, but Maddox didn't want to cause discomfort for the humans that may reside around these parts. Though he was a ruthless killer in many people's mind, Maddox didn't see himself like that. He wasn't trying to kill everyone, just those with a just reward on their head. And those humans? They were completely innocent. Maddox felt no need to end their mundane lives.
It took Maddox nearly a full hour or so to reach the border. Upon reaching it, he most definitely let out a foul word or two. The barrier, though he thought perhaps easy to bust at first, did no such thing. It prevented him from leaving, prevented him from winning this imaginary game he'd created in his head. Damn that witch. It took another entire hour for the effects to wear off and, by then, Maddox was definitely not in the mood to screw around with her any longer. However, it appeared that, once again, the fates were not in his favor.
Continuing on towards the Black Forest, Maddox found himself stopping just before it's borders, his eyes scanning it. He'd heard of it once before, thinking it no more than a childish fairy tale told to those who believed in the supernatural. Well, while Maddox believed in such things, he'd never been one to believe in this. However, it's fairly difficult to have disbelief when the thing is standing right in front of you. Being the stupidly brave soul he was, Maddox actually started forward into the wood, hacking at whatever entered his path with his sharp blade. As expected, the forest didn't let him get very far for it wasn't just standing there; it was fighting against him. With ever slice he took, another branch reformed, another tree regrew. Not only this, but with ever tree that grew high, Maddox's anger did the same. Damn witch.
The black forest was protecting her it was a promise by the trees. But she never wanted for any of them to be hurt. "Just let him pass." She said walking in the middle of the lush magical forest hearing the shrieked of those shrubs killed. She couldn't help being worried about them who protect her. "Let him come to me." She sat on one of the dead tree fallen in the middle of the forest floor.

((It's alright :) I'm at school most of the time anyways.))As he continued to hack away at the branches that blocked his path, Maddox soon felt the tension in the wood start to dull. His chopping away became easier as the magic in the woods began to slowly wear off, allowing him to walk through the forest with slight ease. At first, he was wary of this. How was one supposed to trust the magic of the wood when all they knew was to believe it a liar? This was the way it was for the hunter. He hardly knew exactly why this forest was acting the way it was, letting him pass to its core. He was on edge, watching every little movement, flinching at every small sound.
By the time Maddox reached the core, his body was wary from the travel. In truth, he was quite tired. The journey had taken quite a lot out of him, making his muscles sore to the touch. It had been awhile since he felt that way. It was unbelievable, really. Maddox had always painted himself as an indestructible and heartless killer, but that wasn't true. Maddox was just as human as anyone else.
Maddox finally broke free of the branches and trees and shrubs to come to a small bit of a clearing in the middle. There she was sitting on a log, as though she were simply waiting for a savoir. Well, Maddox was anything but. His eyes narrowed and his knife immediately slipped out. In truth, Maddox was stubborn in that way. He didn't learn when he was beat; never had and never would. But he had his reasons and, in his mind, they were better than anyone else's. There were others with plans to kill the witch that had wrought this world of it's good fate, but Maddox was determined to complete the deed first. He wouldn't allow himself to lose.
