I heard about this author and his life and thought what a true an amazing man that he was to his wife, children, and to God. I think they interviewed him like on "60 Minutes" or something like that and I think I did heard that last lecture.

I was not personally a fan of this book. I don't think we really see a full picture of his battle with the cancer. While I appreciated his upbeat and positive attitude and strength, I felt for the average reader struggling with the loss of a loved one, there needed to be more of a balance showing the days when he just couldn't do it (perhaps there were not any, but did not find it was typical of what most people go through battling a life taking illness). Just my two cents worth.
I am a fan of his book. I think of him quite often and his view of his car...dinged, scratched, a dent,crack...not a big deal. It got him where he needed to be. The love for wife and family was touching. He must have been quite a guy!
I first heard part of this speach on NPR then I went and bought the book.It made me cry and really brought together of what is important in life... this is one of those books that should be a required read by young adults...I have known many who have lost to cancer, but most of them lived large and all felt that they had to give some important words before they left us all too soon... this book is full of wisdon.
