Lady Maybe strays a little from the rest of Julie Klassen's Books. That is probably why it was published by Penguin Publishing instead of Bethany house. Julie has dealt with unwed pregnancies before, but not full on adultery. The story begins by Sir John and Marianna Mayfield leaving Bath and heading to an undisclosed place to escape Marianna lover, Anthony Fontaine. Just before they leave Hannah Rogers comes to pick up some back wages she is owed. Marianna hires her to be her traveling companion on the spot. On there way there is an accident that leaves Sir John critically injured, Hannah somewhat injured, and rescuers mistakenly think Hannah is Lady Mayfield, and Lady Mayfield is drown for floats downstream. There are actually two love triangles. The first between Marianna and her two lovers, but later in the book Hannah also has a love triangle. It is not my favorite book of Ms. Klassen but I did like the ending.
