X-Men discussion

Published to celebrate 50 years of the X- men, this story arc follows the All- new X- men as they and the present day Xmen are confronted by a future team of Xmen. (Try saying that 3 times fast) Ultra- time- loopy, with a significant come- back and hopefully the showdown I've been waiting for!
Published in September 2013 and spanning All- new X- men, X- men, uncanny X- men and Wolverine & the X- men.

What is with Bendis' obsession with time travel lately...?

X-men, Ultron it was a major part of one of his Avengers runs...

Doctor Who isn't as timey-whimey as recent comics from Bendis.

O well,lots of characters, costumes, cheesey lines and fight scenes!

I've noticed that the current X-men comics keep using time travel for its plot devices and frankly, I just want to see another type of story for a change that doesn't involve time traveling.

So, the story meant to fix this made it worse and the fallout is the old X-men get ugly new costumes...?

I think I give up on the current X-verse and will just go back to collecting the 'Essential' volumes.

I'm still only collecting the older issues of X-men since I'm not really interested in the newer stories. Unless the newer stories start having more character development for the characters and not change every situation at the last second, then I'm not checking them out.

I think they've run out of ideas, with regards to characters and plots! I stopped reading this story arc.

I agree! It seems like nowadays they are just doing time traveling stories because they got no more ideas to use for these characters (although there are plenty of ideas to use for these characters).

I think they should give us, the fans, a chance to write a story. Obviously I'd kill off the white witch...this story line had potential but it just didn't live up to it.

A story written by the fans...that would be a dream come true! That's why I'm writing the X-Men Fan Fictions at this moment. At least, I could write it where I can see the directions where I wanted the characters to go.

There is some good Fan Fiction in this group as well - under Fan Stuff...

90% of the fan fiction out there tends to be better than the stuff written by the guys getting paid to do it.

What I don't get is, rather than going through all that time travel BS, why not just fix the X-men you have.
The whole storyline feels like Bendis was too lazy to figure out how to fix the mess X-men is or do the research to write a prequel series like 'Hidden Years'.
