Place to post final updates: Official Halloween Book Hunt (EVENT TWO) Update Thread

Covers the S in ghost (author's name)

Covers the G in ghost (main character name = Goldy)

Will be logging on to Monsieur Mango to update page totals tonight and will update this as well, and turn in a page count update. :)

Can you link to your edition and give me the author name? :D
Is this for task 4 (supernatural creatures) or task 3 (special powers)? What kind of creature/power?

Covers the O in ghost (first letter of book title)

Covers the H in ghost (author's last initial)

Will update editions/etc when I get on M Mango :)

We need two more supernatural creatures books for task four, and Barb is working on her last book for the task five. :) so close.
Keep reading! We want LOTS of pages!

Sorry? LOL I'll keep reading, don't worry :)

But today even with all the errands I had to run, I read a ton! I hope I can keep it up!

Finished:
Possession 10/4. 544 pages - finished 178 pages on the 4th so I think this will qualify for Supernatural creatures category - Angels and demons.
Harvest Moon. Finished 10/5. Pumpkins on the cover.
And I'm working on Chasing Magic which will qualify either for Special Abilities - Witch who banishes evil ghosts and has magical ability or supernatural creatures - Ghosts.
I will now get up to date with my pages numbers in the relevant thread.

Fantastic! Yup, I updated my thread this morning. Glad you saw it :)

I saw that I forgot to do that just now, when I logged on to add another book as complete. I fixed it, sorry about that.

And I'll be getting on Monsieur mango to update everything (finally!) sorry it took so long!

Then we'll be done with those and it'll be READ READ READ! and no worrying with slots or specifics :)

Covers the T in ghost (first word of title) - and finishes the word too!

Monsieur Mango, MANGO TANGO, still checking, and I'm getting different results when I use the link... but, I think you mean Stargazey Point: A Novel, as read by Barb. Either way, it has NOT been 'tagged' by her with her TTRC shelf here.

I'll make sure Barb tags it appropriately
Still don't know how you did that, and still got it to link to the right book. You must have went in and edited the booklink.

So I put in [*book:WRONG TITLE|editionnumber] haha.
I've edited titles, especially to shorten them, but I couldn't figure out how you got a completely different word. ☺
I go to the person's bookshelf, first. Second, if I can't find it, I search by title - and GRs said no such book. Third, I search author. Found it that way, but then I went back to your link and I was really scratching my head.

The second event is the Book Treasure Hunt!
We will need to complete FIVE TASKS. Each task consists of the same number of books as the task number, so task one will require one book, task two will require two, etc for a total of FIFTEEN books for this section.
For each TASK, we must assign it a THEME for those books, from the categories listed below. We can only use any particular theme one time, and while we can work on them all concurrently, we must post them as finished in the correct order. For each completed task, we receive a clue. Once the teams have finished the five tasks, the mods will post the FINAL TASK that was hinted at from the five clues we received. The teams that finish each task first will receive Book Hunt points, and then the final task will be worth 50. The top five teams with the highest points will receive BAPs according to the chart above.
THEMES:
ONE: Classic Horror – Read classic horror books like Frankenstein or Dracula, or a modern revamp of old classics, like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
TWO: Masters of Horror and the Fantastic – Read a book from a master of the Horror or Fantasy genres, like Stephen King, Clive Barker, or Dean Koontz for Horror or Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchet, or JRR Tolkien for Fantasy.
THREE: Samhain – Read a book with focus on Celtic/Gaelic traditions of Samhain, Beltane, or other rituals associated with the holiday of Halloween.
FOUR: Trick or Treat – SPELL IT OUT with the perfect costume or candy name from Trick or Treating.
FIVE: Face Your Fears – Read books about things that scare you – murder, spiders, planes, snakes, losing loved ones… anything that you’re afraid of!
SIX: Hallow Places – Read a book with a setting involving cemeteries, dark forests, haunted houses, asylums, scary castles, etc.
SEVEN: Halloween Party! – SPELL IT OUT with the perfect party item… a drink, decorations, themes, music, etc.
EIGHT: Supernatural Creatures – Read a book with witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, spirits, poltergeists, angels, demons, mythological beings, etc.
NINE: Halloween Cover Hunt – Read books with covers matching Halloween colors – black, orange, and red – or Halloween themes – pumpkins, skulls, ghosts, bloody knives, etc.
TEN: Special Abilities – Read a book with someone with special abilities or powers – magical powers, speaking to/seeing the dead, manipulating the weather, time traveling, visions, mind-reading, etc.
For the SPELL IT OUT sections, we can pick a longer phrase and the task can be marked completed when the number of books required for the task have been read. (Example: If we say we are going to spell out VAMPIRE for Task 3, and read VMP, we’re done!)
After a task is finished and we’ve turned it in for the clue, it can’t be changed!
