My biggest gripe is that he doesn't catalog reviews of Vollmann's books ;; exhaustive cataloging would be exhausting, but selective selecting of select reviews would be illuminating -- until the pen-men/women at universities get their pens vollmann-direct'd, MOST of the intelligent conversation about Vollmann's books has been taking place in reviews and such ;; for example, this long piece by goodsreader Jeff Bursey :: http://www.electronicbookreview.com/t... :: is one of the longer things written about Vollmann, and but it still looks like a book review.
Nathan (and others), here's a link that may be helpful:https://bu.digication.com/ccoffman/Vo...
It's about a collection of essays on WV, and the table of contents is there. Franzen is in it. Damn it. :~]

OH. That's good. Thanks. This kind of thing is (long over-?) due.

This looks amazing
Hemmingson bibliography correction ::B86, entry for "no matter how beautiful it stings" [lowercase] has the incorrect pagination ; the story is on page 216-226 (not pages 213-298). It should be noted that it appears to be an excerpt from his How You Are novel-in-progress.

Now I don't remember which, but I saw him on a video on some author page just yesterday. He's got a piece in The Speed Chronicles which maybe now I should/might read.

We seek proposals for an approved panel for the 2015 NEMLA conference in Toronto.
This panel is devoted to the work of William T. Vollmann. The sheer quantity and diversity of Vollmann’s work have established him as an important voice in contemporary letters but have also rendered him an intimidating and elusive figure for readers. Providing both an introduction to Vollmann for novices and rigorous scholarship for aficionados, this panel will assess Vollmann’s place within American and global literatures. Please submit 300-500 word proposals through the NEMLA website.

A Study of William T. Vollmann: Transgression in the Post-Modern Context: by Cheng Qian, published by Xiamen University press.
I've found no translations of Vollmann into Chinese, meaning this author would have had to read the English original.
Hadrian wrote: "I've found no translations of Vollmann into Chinese, meaning this author would have had to read the English original."Just recently there's :: 窮人 ; Chinese?
And please keep us posted if anything on the translation front of Cheng Qian's work eventuates.
Yup, that's him. Translated into Traditional Chinese, meaning publication in Taiwan, I'm guessing. The translator is Xu Lisong, who has also translated Paul Theroux and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
