Heidi (Heidi, #1-2) Heidi question

What is your favorite, movie or book?

I like both of them. The classic vision movie is so pretty. And the book leaves more imaginary for us. Both charming in their own way.

I didn't watch the movie, but the novel is a piece of gold :)

Always loved the book. The movie had several renditions, some better than the others, but the book is priceless. LOVED it as a kid, I still love it as an adult, and any child I'd read it to loved it as well. The imagery it evokes needs no movie visuals.

The movie is good, but book is better.

As I grew up in Southern Bavaria, Heidi was something which I could relate to and which everybody read and loved (The Bavarian Anne of Green Gables). I always wanted to have a Klara in my life and I admit live, sometimes in a posh house in Frankfurt. I grew up with the classic Anime and in my imagination that is the Heidi which I prefer. Beautiful.

I grew up with a choice between an immensely long version which was either dubbed into English or had English narration over French or German, or a BBC TV series version. I liked them both, really, and I still choke up when Heidi is hiding the bread rolls so she can go home.

Book. No question. I tried watching a few versions of the movie but none were as good as the book.

Loved both..

I have the book and I like it. - There are many movies and series of Heidi, both with actors as well as as cartoons. I remember one american movie where Jane Seymour plays Mrs. Rottenmeier. This wasn't fit for me.
A german TV series with a curly Heidi (which sadly has never been replayed after the first emission) was really great, very nice actors and lovingly made.

the book---just so wonderfully written.

Book: Jane Eyre

Movie: Titanic and Jane Eyre (the one with William Hurt)

I think you asked about the Heidi movie or book, right? Which movie do you mean?
I personally love the classic Anime more, but maybe that's because I have fond childhood memories of it.
