Ahhajshahausishshwneveisjebejejd I still haven't read the Huntress but I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE TOO
I can't WAIT for The Beautiful Pretender! :) The whole time I was reading Huntress of Thornbeck Forest, I thought the Margrave was awesome... and having a sequel about him is going to be FABULOUS!! :D
At first I didn't know what to make of him. I wondered if he would be a villain or not. If he had been, he probably would have been the type you couldn't help but love :) I'm so glad he isn't though!

Hey, guys! I wanted to let you know my publisher is doing a big reveal of the cover for The Beautiful Pretender tomorrow here on Goodreads! Also, if 1,000 people add it to their Want to Read shelf by tomorrow, they will release some exclusive content from The Golden Braid! Go here to get in on it: http://bit.ly/1Mxuinp Also, share my Goodreads blog post so your friends can get in on it too!
Thanks!
Don't know why the cover is not showing up. :-( I sent an email to my publicist but she hasn't emailed me back. Grr.
Melanie, I love your honesty!! Seriously, you are amazing!! Someday I would really like to meet you :)
Wow! Melanie, I know you thing its kind of plain, but I actually really like the cover! I really like the window part and how you can even see the landscape beyond it. I think it's very beautiful!! I'm so excited to read the book!!! When is it being released again? I hope its soon!!!
I really like it! That means a lot coming from me because I'll admit I'm the type of person who judges books by their covers (literally), and the cover definitely lives up to my standards xD
Aw, thanks you all! It's supposed to be set at Thornbeck Castle, which is in the forest on a steep hill/mountain, and I didn't think the window looked Medieval at all, but I did like the dress. :-) It comes out in May, which is a long time away, I know. :P But I have two more coming out before that one, so maybe that helps, right? :-)
Yes!!! I keep feeling daunted by the amount I time before it comes out, but then I realize that more of your books come out before this one. :D
I have to say, the cover is certainly different than your Hagenheim ones, BUT it is still so lovely and it complements the Huntress's one very nicely. :)
I can't wait for this to come out, and Melanie, the cover is just wonderful. I like how the warm brown and red tones kind of contrast with the green and black of the first book. :D
Kaitlyn wrote: "I'm sooooooooo excited for this to come out!!!!! Did anyone notice that there is a 7th Hagenhiem (forgive me if this is misspelled) book coming out in November?"YESSSS!! :D I'm so excited for The Silent Songbird! :) :)
Can't wait for The Beautiful Pretender ... The Huntress of Thornbeck Forest was amazing!! ^_^And YES!! I hear it's the last book of the Hagenheim series ... :'( But still, so exciting! And it's a retelling of The Little Mermaid, right??? Eep! Can hardly wait! <3
Hi, guys! The Silent Songbird is the last book I have planned in that series, and it's actually about Ranulf and Annabel's son and takes place in Glynval, England. :-) The Beautiful Pretender, which is about the Margrave of Thornbeck, was just endorsed by Siri Mitchell! I was super excited, since she's one of my favorite writers! She said, "I couldn’t stop reading! Melanie has done what so many other historical novelists have tried and failed: she’s created a heroine that is at once both smart and self-assured without seeming modern. A woman so fixed in her time and place that she is able to speak to ours as well.
To be uniquely yourself when everyone is telling you to be someone else is one of the most courageous things a woman can do. Bravo, Melanie!"

yay! So excited! You came up with a name for it!
What made you decide on The Silent Songbird (love the ring that sounds in this title)?
My publisher came up with that, because the heroine pretends to be mute at the beginning (instead of giving her voice up to a witch like in the original story) and she's a very good singer. :-)
That's wonderful, Melanie! ^_^ Soooo excited for both books! We get a story about Ranulf and Annabel's son? Yay!! :D <3
