"A breeze had the cypress whisper in an unknown, primeval language. Old tombs never reply to the questions from the living ones; the cemetery was quiet and peaceful, as it was meant to be, indifferent to my struggles." - Once Humans, Vol.2 of the "Daimones Trilogy". WIP - Vol.3
I have many different projects I am working on. Currently though I am working on writing a series of books. It is in the very beginning stages so I am still putting my thoughts together. The book I have completed is about my life. It is written quite differently than most others. I did that on purpose as I wanted it to just be the voice telling the story. I wanted no literary bells or whistles just simply telling the story. It is filled with pain and tragedy yet different though as it has a brighter ending.
Finding My Way
The Mighty First, a YA sci-if series, is about teens who have enlisted in the service for college money, escape, etc., and graduate on the crux of an alien invasion. They have to grow up fast. There is comedy, drama, romance, & action with settings on Earth, space naval battles, and alien worlds.Release of book 1 is due June 2014
Paramount Pictures is reviewing the synopsis for a possible screenplay adaptation, very excited, as this is my first published work !
I am in the very early stages of my next book, but, already, am finding it unbelievable and fascinating. I am working with seven family members that spent thirteen plus years within a religious commune in Vermont. The parents and their five children all have a story of their own and the actual story as a whole. I'm amazed! I hope I will be able to capture the depth of their hearts.
My current Work in Progress is polishing off the three remaining books of my Stones series. The main premise of the series is that ancient alien artifacts in the shape of rocks (Stones) exist on Earth. Those who possess the Stones have power to manipulate time, matter and energy. The purpose of the Stones is to serve as a catalyst to move history along. Genghis Kahn, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and others like them all came into possession of a Stone that gave them glimpses of the future, a crucial advantage that allowed them to amass great power. In my Stones series, a young man (Matt) accidentally finds one of the Stones in a future near the end of this century. He is immediately thrust into a battle with Ryzaard (rhymes with lizard), another Stone Holder, over control of the destiny of the human race. The battle plays out over the course of the four books. Along the way, I weave in myth, philosophy, history, science and the meaning of life and love. There's an epic conclusion at the end. The first book, Stones (Data), is already on Amazon. The other three books are currently in draft form and will come out over the course of the next few months.
About to go all NaNoWriMo with my WIP series. The first book (published) is an intro to the world with magic, and detailed a bit of history around the story line (yet still it remains a stand alone book in the series). The next will most likely drop a little more history or world descriptions, but focus on the story of a side character in the first book. Yes, I love me some tie-ins that don't require reading every book to understand the one you're reading (example: Stephen King books Dolories Claiborne and Gerald's Game). That moment where you say "oh hey! I know that character!" Yup. What I'm currently trying to accomplish :)
Doesn't need to be different, just needs to be good. Now, I'm a romance writer, so I am writing essentially the same story over and over again, with variants. I just sent a novella off to be beta'd. It's about Drew, a Kinsey one or maybe one-and-a-half whose best friend is in love with him.
The Mighty First seriesEpisode 1 is currently in production, due to release May 2014
YA sci-fi war series featuring teens as central characters.
Imagine WW2 reoccurring in our future, this time the theater of war being across the US. The occupying forces are alien. The series follows a group of 17 year olds as they enlist for service, make their way through basic training, and finally enter action.
Main character is 17 year old Minerva Carreno, a young girl from a
small town who reluctantly finds herself leading her cadre of Marine graduates in the fight to liberate Earth.
Tales of the Fifth Guardian:What if the Island we know as Atlantis was actually a corruption of the residents' real name for their island? And what if their descendants live among us in modern times with all the Power and abilities of their ancestors? That's the premise of my series.
Now, what if Knowledge has always been cherished among the People of the lost island of Otland Iis and they know that the Knowledge Guardians have come to them before in times of trouble or change?
It's been so long since the Fourth Guardian joined the Power at the end of her time that the People have relegated them to myth and legend, but now the Fifth Guardian has come into her Knowledge. Are the People ready for her?
I've created the language of Otlantesha and an ever-expanding dictionary is included at the back of each book.

Keep it short, a thousand words or less, but tell me about your WIP, and what makes it different from every one else's book.
I'd LOVE to hear what you are working on!
