Chapter 1


Incarnation


The town isn’t much of a town anymore, since that one night evil just walked in and claimed what it wanted. It was as though the dead came to life, craving lost souls for its own and taking what it wanted. The streets are empty, only reminiscent of what it use to be, but now, only the dust on the streets is its occupant. I lay awake at night anticipating something happening again. I think I’m going nuts just worrying about it, yet its there, watching me. This eerie silence has grown over me, sending more than shivers down my spine, I’m engulfed in something more evil, something more sinister than I’ve ever felt before. There’s something out there, I just feel it. It knows I’m watching, looking for a sign that it’s there. I just can’t put my finger on it, but I know, I just know.


I tried to escape the wrath and was lucky enough to find my way to this house on the other side of town. I just couldn’t bear to hear all those screams, those dreadful sounds any longer. It’s not easy moving around outside, in fact, it’s not safe at all. I have to be smart about the way I do things now, I have to be careful or I’ll end up like the rest of them. I’m fucking starving and there’s nothing in this damn house to eat. The only place close enough to me, is Debbie’s General Store and it’s two blocks away. This is insane, fucking nuts! I have to make it there and the sun is coming up in an hour. I’ll wait till it does, then take my chances. I have no idea, if anyone else is alive or not. What the hell has happened!?

When will dawn come? It's so dark. I found a flashlight in the garage when I got here, but I don't dare turn it on. The light might be seen outside.

But then I get to thinking what if it's not safer in daylight? What if going outside is safer under cover of darkness? After all I do have the flashlight now...? And here we go again! Why the hell do I have to be so fucking indecisive, and over-analyse everything! For gods sake, grow a pair of balls and make a decision, and for once in your sorry life don't screw it up!
