Just outside of Paris, there is a small woods that gradually turns into the countryside, where many families may have houses or farms.

Pamela | 354 comments Kylie stood up from the log he had been siting on for the past thirty minutes. Restlessly he turned to Cecy. His brown/golden hair was growing fast, already he had locks that annoyingly blocked his vision repeatedly. He shoved it back with his palm irritably. He needed a haircut fast before he did anything irrational like dragging a razor through it. He wouldn't have cared either way, as far as the locks were gone. All was cool.
He stretched, his muscles were tensed as it had been since running away. He didn't regret it, there was nothing there to regret. After seeing his mother was more than cared for he didn't really have anything to look back to. No longing, no sorrow.
He smiled at Cecy or tried to he really need to loose up. She was sitting across from him. He tried his smile again to ease any worry going through her mind. For Cecy he would do it just for her....anything.
He felt like smashing his fist into her father's face repeatedly and he knew Cecy felt that way too. It hurt him just thinking of how hurt Cecy was because of the wretched man. Thinking of her father brought anger quickly to the surface, which didn't help his already tensed muscles. His fist was curled into an angry ball, desperate for an outlet he continued his stiff stretching. He really needed to explode his emotions.

Cecy sat somewhat patiently on a log in the middle of nowhere, the only things she knew right now was that Kylie was the only one she could trust, and her father would have to look out if he ever tried to find her again. Not that he would, though, he rarely came after her when she had snuck out, why would now be any different? All he had ever cared about was drinking, and keeping her mother's locket away from Cecy. Sucks for him, doesn't it? She though to herself, her hand immediately moving up to the small locket around her neck, one of the only things she had taken when the two had run. Cecy was dragged out of her thoughts when Kylie suddenly stood up, stretching and pushing his long hair out of his face. Cecy had looked back down at the forest floor instead of him. All she could think about was her father, who was the only she didn't want to think about. Ever again. She couldn't believe she had actually made it. It was way too good to be true; being safe and away from him. If she didn't come home that day he would come looking for her, maybe even file something to be on the lookout for her. And if he did manage to get her back…Cecy shook her head lightly, looking back up to see Kylie smiling at her. It was a reassuring smile, one that could make everything better in seconds. Only a moment later, the reassuring smile was gone and Kylie looked as if he was about to punch whatever was closest to him, which happened to be the log he had been sitting on. "Woah, calm down. That log didn't do anything to you, you know."

Pamela | 354 comments His lips switched in mirth. He walked over to her log, his long legs bringing him there faster. He kneeled across her close enough to smell her. Searching her eyes, she looked relaxed though he knew better. She was thinking too much about this, if it was left to him they would have ran away a long time ago.
He knew she was worried, she was doing well hiding it---that's if he was anybody else but he knew her just like he knew himself maybe even better. And so he knew she was deeply bothered.
He shrugged "For all we know it might have done something. How do we know this log wasn't the reason a brave soldier fell that would have made a good shot and changed the cause of history." He raised a brow daring her to contradict him, saying in a very matter of fact voice. His expressing was that of their history teacher. Though he couldn't help the small smirk. He was aiming to make her laugh, to stop worrying even if it was but a second it pleased him. He didn't fully understand the feelings, these new ones. He shrug away the thought and just like he did his shoulders...although harder.

Cecy grinned at him, wondering what he was going to have to say. He walked over to her, leaning almost uncomfortably close and was silent for a moment. Now, this was extremely uncomfortable for Cecy due to her new …discovery of the tiny little crush she may or may not have developed for Kylie since they had met. She realized a moment too late he was trying to see how she was really feeling at the moment. Cecy tried keeping her stress buried beneath her care-free attitude, but he was seeing through it almost immediately, she could tell. Cecy looked away before he could figure anything else out. An amused grin appeared on her face, almost laughing at him going along with her little game of sarcasm. "Well, I would feel awful for that brave soldier, but I asked if it had done anything to you. Unless you're trying to praise yourself in a devious way…again?" Cecy asked with another laugh.

Pamela | 354 comments Kylie knew she was ignoring his question, he stood up from his crouching. She didn't want to talk about her feelings and he understood that clearly. He wasn't willing to push her, so he followed along with their game though he knew the pretends wouldn't last any longer.
She had to talk about it or it might eat her up, he realised this from experience.

He shot her a death glare jokingly. Gong along with the game which she was using as a distraction.
He said in a loud pompous voice, "Didn't you know? I am....the Ice Prince," he said after a pause thinking of a suitable title. The ice prince perfect and was too close to home. "and as such I demand respect from you missy!" He brushed his imaginary suit and finished this with a slow and deliberate head shake. Murmuring something about "children of these days"
He placed his foot on the log, blowing out invisible smoke from his pipe. Determined not to grin but after about a second he couldn't help it he looked at her grinning "I look ludicrous don't I." He said with a grin removing his leg to stand properly.
The night was getting darker the more to stood there, they have yet to talk about their next step. All he know was that they needed light and the only way to get light in the forest was to torch some woods.

((I think it's almost time for Bella)

Cecy almost sighed in relief when he stood up, apparently done with trying to get her to talk. She was glad he wanted to help, but at the moment...well, it was still just hard That was the only way to describe it without seeming crazy. But he seemed to understand, so she gave him a quick smile. "The Ice Prince? Oh my, must I bow to you, Ice Prince?" Cecy tried not to laugh, but the "children these days" just set her off. She started laughing, quietly at first, until she was laughing so hard she could barely breath. "You look...absolutely ridiculous!" Cecy said in between laughter. Finally calming down, Cecy stood up and walked over to where he was standing. "Alright, you want to go get the wood or should I?"

((Ugh sorry its short, I just want to get to Bella faster XD))

The sun was setting, and Bella was exhausted. Playing a different person, slipping on a different name everyday; it was hard enough without the constant looking over her shoulder. She kept expecting to find a mysterious private investigator following her, or to see her school picture splashed across television screens in the hostel she was staying at. Waiting for someone to recognize her did a job on her nerves and made her feel sick at times with worry. The lights and sounds of the big city could be daunting even for her, so a bike ride out to the woods seemed to be in order. She could just be alone with her thoughts and maybe listen to some songs on her old iPod nano, whatever worked; as long as she couldn't feel the stress. Her lightly tan legs pushed the petals of the shared bike thoughtfully, like she knew where she was going. It wasn't the first time she'd laid the bike against a tree and forgotten her worries for bit, more like the third. She'd always enjoyed a pleasant silence, and this time, she assumed, would be no different. Isabella was wearing a light pink sundress, with tiny flats on her feet that were painted in a pale gold. She looked more like the daughter of a real estate man and less like a runaway girl; but the bags underneath her eyes didn't match the ensemble one bit. She slipped her backpack onto her shoulders and gripped her tiny cell phone tightly, ready to dial the police if anyone attempted to murder her with some kid of axe or electric saw; she knew that that could happen in the woods. Bella was peaceful until she heard footsteps in the woods; then she stopped in her tracks and looked around cautiously with her green eyes. She could hear them coming closer "Hello...?" She called or helplessly, hoping that the sound to follow would be a voice, and not a tell-tale electric saw.

Pamela | 354 comments Kylie turned to walk "No, I'll get them." He said quickly as he walked out into the forest. She needed to rest more than he did. He wandered a bit, checking out the area for anything. The forest was dense and peaceful. Lively with animals mostly birds and the occasional squirrels. He also wanted to get a feel of the environment, different routes to learn in case he and Cecy needed a quick escape.
He didn't trust her father to just ignore his lost daughter even he must not be that heartless. He knew heartless people better than most. That was his daily life he thought bitterly as he let his feet take him around, marking the trees.
It was calm in the forest.

He finally brought together a bunch of woods. It would last them through the night and maybe by then Cecy would be ready to talk. They needed a strategy, a plan or this could easily fall apart as they were under eighteen. He heard a noise then a soft voice calling out. Quickly he hid behind a nearby tree. It could be anyone, someone unwanted. So cautiously he peeked through the canopy of leaves. It was just a girl probably lost from the looks of her. She looked both scared and defiant. He walked quietly not revealing himself but bringing himself closer and closer just in case he assumed wrongly.
"What are you doing here?" He asked from the leaves that still covered him. His voice sounded harshly although not meaning to but they couldn't trust anyone right now.

Silence. A harsh, blank silence that seemed to never wish to end. But Isabella wished for it to end. After what was probably a minute but felt like hours, Bella heard the sounds of light shuffling mix into the forest. Someone was trying to be quiet, trying to not be seen. But there was one things for sure; the sounds were getting louder. Bella toyed nervously with the buttons on her phone, her feet shifting back and forth as if she were ready to run away from the footsteps so quickly, the chainsaw-wielding murderer wouldn't even know what had hit him. Or her, Bella thought to herself, supposing that serial killers could just as easily be women, though statistically, it was mostly men that fit the bill. "Who's there?" She called out, knowing that someone was listening to her calls, she just didn't know who. When the voice finally rang out, Bella let out a light scream, just because it was so close to her. Whoever was speaking had to be only three or four trees away from her, hiding somewhere. "Uh... I was just walking. But, uh, I'll just be going, I'm, er, well I guess I'm sorry?" She said to the general audience of trees and chipmunks "I didn't mean to intrude," Bella insisted, trying to decide which would be the best way to run. This wouldn't be how Bella Dubois died. She'd run from one murderer, and if this was another one, well she'd have to run from him, too.

Pamela | 354 comments Kylie stepped out from the trees that was shielding him, he concluded that the girl was just a girl she wasnt here to harm them in fact the thought of that was bit laughable with how scared she looked. Although he stepped out from the trees he still stood in the shadows "No!" he said without thought, he didnt want to disturb this girl peace just because he was paranoid.
He understood the need of space all too well especially in a city like this space and quiet was everything. Thats why he tried again maybe it could come out better than before.
He cleared his throat looking into her wide eyes he wondered what she was doing out here at this time.
She looked alarmed, he felt like a jerk knowing he was the one who caused that. In a stiff voice not betraying his emotions he tried again "I mean you can stay," that didnt came out right eithier. she probably thought by now he was a serial killer or worse. He smiled tentatively at the girl hoping it did came out as a smile not a scowl what was it with this girl that made him fall at loss of words?
"What i meant is, do not be afraid." he said in a reasurring voice which betrayed his thought. How did he know someone wasnt out there looking for them? And the innocent girl could end up in the crossfire. "Its okay, just me and a friend here." After some thought he spoke thinking it better for he to stay with them than alone just incase "You can join us?" he offered with a blank expression.

Isabella was ready to run, ready to just bolt out of the trees and never look back. It was just a place, really. Just one more place that she couldn't go. Yes she would miss it; miss her tranquil walks and the cute little squirrels she fed sometimes, but her life was worth more than a charming walk and friendly woodland creatures. The voice had made it clear that he didn't want her there, but when it rang out again, it didn't seem so certain. Bella stopped walking, and peered towards the boy who was standing there, holding a tree branch of all things, like it would mask his identity. He was fumbling over words and looking at her with clear confusion on his face. Oh, he was confused? If anyone were to be confused, it was Bella. This boy was rambling about how she could stay and he and his friend wouldn't mind. "Friend?" She asked, since she hadn't seen anyone else around, she felt even more nervous. How many people were in the woods, wasn't it a little crowded? It took her a moment, but when Isabella really looked at the boy, she happened to notice how cute he was. Not cute like the squirrel, either, the sort of cute that made her cheeks turn red and forced her to look away from his piercing blue eyes. But that wasn't the time for acquiring a crush, so Bella tried to stay on track. His hair seemed scruffy, and while she thought it was an attractive mess, it didn't really fit on the boy. And his clothes were very wrinkled, like he'd been wearing them for longer than he should've. Isabella would've gasped, but she was trying to be quiet; sudden noises could scare people like her. And if she was right, he might be a runaway, too. "Stay there." She said, holding up a hand so he wouldn't move. Bella took steps closer, though. If the boy moved, even an inch, she would run. Closer she could see more; the dirt under his nails, the bags under his eyes, the backpack he was carrying. "Are you running too?" She asked him, green eyes actually hopeful that she wasn't the only one in the city.

Pamela | 354 comments Kylie was about to speak when the girl commanded him to stay. He Listened only because she reminded him of a scared rabbit. Just a step and it would flee.
He was curious on what she wanted. Although he didn't move an inch his eyes tracked her as she came forward. The closer she came the more he could see of her, even the blush. He was used to girls even women blushing at him. Another blush didnt matter.
When she gave him this hopeful eyes, like light shining directly on her pupils. He knew he might not like what she was going to say.
As soon as she asked the question it felt like a buzz went through him and all he could think was Cecy, her father, hide.
He grabbed her quickly covering her mouth with his palm holding a hand across er chest tightly so she wouldnt move, he bent his head to whisper "Who are you and what do you want?" he asked furious at himself for letting his guard down just for a pretty face. His anger was transparent, good he thought that should scare her more.

More than anything else, there was hope shining in Isabella's eyes. She didn't like being so lonely, and as a runaway; there weren't a lot of people to talk to. She thought that maybe she would be able to make a friend; just one or two. But the boys eyes darkened, and Bella's heart started to beat faster. Why did he look so angry, so scared? Just when she was about to take a step back, the boy grabbed her, a strong arm crushing her against him and a hand clamping down on her mouth, so no one would hear the screech that ripped from her throat. His words came next, whispered softly in her ear, but his tone was hoarse and dangerous. This was the end of the road for her, she was sure; this boy would hit her on the head or snap her bones like twigs and she wouldn't get to run anymore. She tried shaking her head violently, since she couldn't exactly speak "Nothing, I swear I don't want anything. Please just let me go I promise I'll never come back, I swear." She said, thrashing hysterically in the boys arms. There were tears streaming down her face, an the terror of the situation made Bella's heart beat faster, too fast.

Pamela | 354 comments Kylie cussed loudly, seeing what he had done. This wasnt what he expected, he was only trying to protect Cecy but at the cost of what? He thought, he released her apologizing immediately. Her face was red and her eyes spoke of hidden fears.
"I am so sorry," he started, he didnt even know how to apologize that he was stupid jerk and this really isnt the way he normally his or maybe it was?
He looked helplessly at her. "Please, let us start all over i...guess....im just..its just its really hard on us running away...and" He stopped instead he noticed her shivering, the goose bumps forming along her slender hand he took of shirt quickly seeing as the night had set and it was dark and chilly.
"Once again, this was not meant to be. Have my shirt." He gave her his shirt wanting to make things better even though it might never be. He started to walk away, he was disappointed in himself.

Isabella was thankfully released, and she scurried a few feet away from the tall boy, terrified that he would change his mind and grab her again. But the look on his face showed obvious guilt; he didn't want to hurt her. Bella crossed her arms over her chest, trying not to feel so cold inside, and hastily wiping away tears, she wasn't supposed to cry in front of people like that- it was one of her new rules. "So you are a runaway." She muttered to herself, her eyes sparkling with a bit of understanding. "We?" She asked, glancing around the area to try and see if someone else was around. Kids didn't run away for fun, she knew that, and she knew how scary it was to leave everything behind. "I can try to help you, if you want." She said, extending an arm with his shirt back to him "As long as you promise not to try and strangle me again. I know how scary it is to runaway." Bella said, standing her ground while he stalked away. She didn't want to tell the boy who she was, that was much to dangerous, seeing as her father probably had a reward posted for anyone that brought her back to him. A shutter went through her at the thought; she wouldn't last another afternoon in her fathers home. There would be an accident, and she would be dead by 6 pm.

Pamela | 354 comments He stopped a smile curved up on his lips, he was curious about the girl that didnt give up so easily. He ran a hand through his hair. The wind had done its work again.
"Arent you scared?" he asked though still not looking back at her he gave his back to her for reasons other than the fact he was walking back to Cecy "Youre offering to help and you dont even know me." he said still staying in his position, he was angry at how innocent she was. He could be anybody for crying out loud. He knew a lot about her and they havent even had a normal conversation a little part of him was curious of what he would know if they had one. Another part the part that always break all his hopes stamped on it. "Keep the shirt." he told her it wasn't useful to him anyway.
He wonder what Cecy would think when she see him stripped to the waist. That would be hilarious to watch. He didnt want to think anymore about this girl. She made him feel so bare and so young. He was ready for this day to be over.

Isabella just crossed her arms at that point. It seemed to her that this boy wanted her to be afraid of him, and in that case, she really, really didn't want to fear him at all. "Everyone's scared. You're scared too. That's why you're smirking and giving me your shirt. Because you're scared of being scared. It's pretty fucked up." She said softly, taking his shirt back, even though she really didn't want it. He was a gorgeous boy, yeah, but he was a we, so he was probably running away with his girlfriend or something. And besides, why would she be worrying about getting on a boyfriend when she was hiding to keep her freedom, to keep herself safe? Bella shook her head "I can help you if you want it, it's really stupid to hang out here overnight." She told him, trying to seem more bold now. Crying was for people that couldn't handle their own emotions. Isabella could handle anything.
