Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Maas

An assassin’s loyalties are always in doubt.
But her heart never wavers.

After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown – a secret she hides from even her most intimate confidantes.

Keeping up the deadly charade—while pretending to do the king's bidding—will test her in frightening new ways, especially when she's given a task that could jeopardize everything she's come to care for. And there are far more dangerous forces gathering on the horizon -- forces that threaten to destroy her entire world, and will surely force Celaena to make a choice.

Where do the assassin’s loyalties lie, and who is she most willing to fight for?

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) I. Love. This. Book. So much happened and we learn so many secrets in this book! People die, Celaena makes her choice, someone's got magical abilities, and more :)

Jessica | 20 comments I'll admit that after reading the awesomeness of the Novellas leading to the release of Throne of Glass, I was left feeling disappointed after finishing ToG.. Going into Crown of Midnight my expectations were much lower than I had with the ToG, but Crown of Midnight decided not only to met my expectations, but shatter them into little bitsy piece and showed them who was the real BOSS!!

I love this world, I love the characters, I love the writing style, I love the characters (oh wait I already said characters)I loved the character development, I loved the dialogue, I loved everything about this book!!

I usually don't like series that have more than 3 book, I feel like they drag after so many books, but with Celaena, I'm looking forward for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and Maas said even possible 7th book in this series.

Forget the boys, I'm #TeamCelaena all day. I can't wait to read more from this series!!

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 350 comments I'm with you guys! I'm reading CoM right now and loving it! I too was somewhat letdown with ToG after loving the novellas but the sequel is so good!!! 13% in and it's awesome how (view spoiler)

Michelle (misah) | 17 comments This was the best sequel I've read in the past years!
I often was dissapointed by the second book of a strong series, but Sarah made me like the hole series even more after reading COM. I can't wait for Book 3... I have great expectations now :-)
The character development is perfect, thrilling plot, great romance. Just loved it!

Isabella (bellavinter) This book is... OMG I love it soooo much!!! Seriously, I'm usually pretty calm, but this... ARH! I haven't been able to get caught up in a book after reading this book!
Sarah J. Maas is definitely one of new generation's YA most talented writers!

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 350 comments I'm really loving it so far!! At 38% and going to make a random prediction (view spoiler)

Jaimie O'Dell (jaimielea) | 12 comments Really good but do you think Chaol fell to his knees at the end because she was gone or because he feared he set her up to destroy the king?

i think it's because she's gone and she dropped that bomb on him about her (view spoiler)

SO did Celaena get with Chaol in this book? I never finished the first one but I was just wondering because I wanted her to stay with Dorian.

Yep, I agree!

Michelle (misah) | 17 comments I think he fell to his knees, because he knew, that he has to made a great decision in his future: on which side will he stand? Celeana or the king...

i have no doubt it will be hard for him but i'm sure he'll choose Celeana. i can;t wait to read how he'll start disobeying and plotting against the king.

Easy decision, the king is evil!

Yeha, this will be great! I have no doubt either: Chaol will stand on Celeanas side!
