I've started the book but it's dragging, and kind of boring, does this book get better? Or is all we learn by the end what's in Clary's head?

What book at you talking about, City of Bones? I liked them, but I only read th first three because it ended well enough and I don't need more at thw moment You should try to get at least halfway through, because it did get interesting for me

Yes City of Bones, I'm about half way through at it's just very slow moving!
