Heather | 129 comments I was poking about Createspace when I got sent here and wondered if anyone had used it before, and how it went.

Armand Rosamilia (armandrosamilia) | 2 comments I've used it twice so far and have been happy with it, although it takes some getting used to with everything you need to do to get your book done properly... but it is worth it.

Heather | 129 comments Okay, thanks. Can I get a description of the process from a user and not the site itself? Pros and cons?

message 4: by Armand (new)

Armand Rosamilia (armandrosamilia) | 2 comments Pros is once you find the perfect narrator you like you and the narrator can set the pace and get out a great audiobook... con? Finding one you like their voice, narration, and they work with you takes some time.

Dana Rongione (danarongione) | 6 comments Am I right in that the author can choose to pay nothing upfront and only shares 50% of the royalty with the publisher of choice? I mean, I know half of the royalties sounds steep, but it would be very beneficial for me to not have to pay upfront, especially right now when I'm getting ready to launch a new paperback book.

Heather | 129 comments If I did an anthology with a number of different narrators of different ages, tones, and genders, how would such a thing work on ACX?

L.E. Fitzpatrick (l_e_fitzpatrick) | 10 comments Big con - it's US only at the moment.

However I have a friend who has done this and her book has come out very nicely. I believe the narrator took his fees in royalties.

Philip (phenweb) | 75 comments I have one book out my first via ACX and now available on Audible etc - I did the shared royalty with my auditioned narrator and I must admit the process was good but time consuming - also highlights all the things you want to change in the book!

I have an audition up for a second but so far no takers and I haven't put the sequel for my first book up. ACX also issue some free download codes to bump interest.

It is great to hear the book in a different voice but it is a lot of effort.
