Hi, everyone. I thought you'd be interested in watching my new trailer on Youtube.

I'm calling it a "cinematic" trailer because I was going for more of what you'd see in a movie theater, with the use of actors and SFX.

I hope you enjoy it (and want to buy the book!). I'd be happy to answer questions about the production process.

Harmony Evans (harmonyevans) | 2 comments Its great! Kept my attention! How did you find your actors?

Matthew Warner | 5 comments Thanks. I was fortunate to have access to the resources of Darkstone Entertainment, a movie production company in Charlottesville, VA, with whom I've done a lot of work. I knew these actors from other projects and was able to cast them specifically for these roles.

Looks like a million bucks to me. Couldn't find the book on Kindle.

Matthew Warner | 5 comments It'll be there soon. In the meantime, the pub is offering $2 off preorders of the print editions.

M. Eigh | 10 comments I probably represent a very small population of the readership on the market, but I never want a book in paper unless it is a comic book or a computer coding book that portrays blocks of code that could easily go askew in an e-format.

And when you get your Kindle version out, I think you should put your killer video on the book page to deliver the high visual impact. A lot of prospective buyers will be pushed right through the buyers' impulse threshold and click on the "Buy with 1-Click" button, just like many other GoodReads authors have done with their Kindle book page:

In fact, I will volunteer any help you need to drop that killer video on your book page.

Matthew Warner | 5 comments Thanks. Are you talking about my Goodreads book page or my website?

message 8: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Warner | 5 comments Oh, you mean in the actual Amazon page. I didn't know that was possible. Thanks!

Yea that's possible. 99.999% percent of the authors just don't know it.

While you are at it, drop in some clickable links to your website, or your GoodReads box, etc.

M. Eigh | 10 comments My trailers are just "whipped" out by myself (that way I do not have to pay anything,) like this one:

But for the one below, I went through a serious production: I wrote a movie script; hired a British crew and paid (ouch!) ...

Care to comment?

M. Eigh | 10 comments Hi Rachel, GoodReads has pretty rigorous code sanitizer here so "true" embedding is not possible. I basically just used a hyperlinked image, with the anchor tag's (<a>) href attribute pointing to the YouTube vid. So when people click on the image, they get taken to the YouTube vids.

But this is just kindergarten stuffs. If you sell Kindle ebooks on Amazon, you owe it to yourself to check my invention called "KDP Descriptions on Steroids."

It allows you to embed YouTube, jQuery, Amazon Affiliate widget (So you can link and present all your titles to a visitor), Facebook, Twitter, social share buttons and -- here's the part that gets most authors attention -- an optin form where you can take your buyers or prospective buyers' emails when they send you a question or comment.

My book has received 9 reviews since Sept 9 when it came out and all of them are 5 stars. A couple of authors here on GoodReads have posted comments on it: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1....

Everyday, more authors are using this technology: http://m.eigh.com/amazon-kdp-authors-....

If you jump on the bandwagon today, you can join us for a free Webinar on Oct. 19 hosted by me, whereby I will walk through the steps on embedding an optin form on your Kindle book pages.

Seeing is believing. Just take a look at my book page and you will notice the difference it can make to marketing your ebooks:
