Hi, Jenn. I'm from Wading River. I'm a story addict myself, although not always books, good TV and/or movies will work for me as well. Mostly I read fantasy, but I write both fantasy and SF, not that you will have heard of anything I wrote. Currently reading fanfictions on the web, for my favorite TV show, Chuck, and that's what I'm writing as well. Eventually I will get back to books, if I can find any that work for me.
Howdy Marc, not much of a tv person, only watch the food network and recently Under the Dome strictly because I'm a huge King fan. Hello Meri, I was wondering the same thing. But thanks to both of you for answering, maybe now that people see there's a new discussion they'll be a bit more talkative haha. Fingers crossed.
It's not TV so much as good stories, in whatever form. I recently plowed through Bones, Castle, and Dexter, while I haven't been reading much other than the fan fictions. Also I have my own books to edit.I haven't spent much time on any form of social media, much to my publisher's dismay.
I write poetry mostly. Stuff about nature and the fire service. I like mysteries, medical books, and biographies. That's most of what I read anyway lately.
Hey, I'm still here. Not as often as I'd like because of several back surgeries. I'm Kathy and I'm from Huntington Station. I read a little bit of everything, but absolutely love horror! And I know for a fact that I have over a thousand books. Kinda scary....but I wouldn't have it any other way! :)
I still haven't read anything by her! I have got to change that! What did you think of Sharp Objects?
If you read my review it says I think Gillian Flynn has a sick mind, how else would she come up with these stories

Hey jenn, ,y name is Lindsay and I'm in lake grove, I'd love to discuss current reads with you! I spend a lot of time at work reading! It would be fun to do a book club!
Currently reading A Thread of Grace, a story about sheepish family trekking thru Europe during the Holocaust. I don't buy many books - generally I take out books from the library on either book firm or for one of my e-readers. Library is great! Sign up with your are and everything is available - all you have to do is either pick up and drop off or download
I just joined but looks like last post was 4 months ago. Just finished reading "Daddy's Girl". Currently reading "Defending Jacob" and just beginning to read "The Rosie Project".
Hi Maria, I am currently almost done with Robert Galbraith's 2nd book "The Silkworm" which is a mystery. What are the books you are reading about?
I'm still here! Just finished Me Before You and The Girl You Left Behind and am now reading The Ship of Brides all by Jojo Moyes. I am torn on if I want to go see the movie of Me Before You. I am afraid they will ruin it.
I just joined as well...Just finished "the Circle" and "Etched in Sand" (for the 2nd time). Just started "The Girl Who Played with Fire" but I think I need to alternate with something a little lighter.Caron, I'm going to pass on the movie of Me Before You. If they do it badly I'll be angry but if they do it well I'll be heartbroken.

Caron- finish the book, but deff see the movie. I personally thought they did a decent job with it. Hi all! I am new as well. I am a children's librarian from Brookhaven, currently living in Sayville, and looking for some interactions around books/movies and anything really entertaining. :):)
ALSO- I am currently reading The Island by Elin Hilderbrand. I just finished What Alice Forgot, as well as Big Little Lies and The Help. And I have Wonder, Summer Sisters, A Window Opens, and the Book of Speculation on the back burner.
If you peek at my To Read shelf, you'll get the sense that I am always looking for suggestions
Someone just gave me "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant to read. As she is also the author of The Boston Girl, I am going to try to read this as well. It seems very historical and I need to keep the original family tree open to figure out who everyone is and how they are related
I loved "Defending Jacob"...finally finished it the other day. Took a while cuz I was reading it with my daughter, but I finished it without her....lol cuz I couldn't wait to read the end. Yes, there were some disturbing moments in the book, but I have to say this is one where I had a bit of a hard time predicting what would happen next and how it would end.
I watch the show- never realized until recently that the show is in book form. Shall attempt reading them to be able to compare the differences and keep you updated.
I am from West Islip and like to read Historical Fiction. I also enjoy watching series like The Crown. I love the Outlander books. I have been a fan long before the show came out. I read all the books and novellas, including the Lord John Series. I enjoy watching the show with my husband, as he never read the books so I like seeing his reactions.

Regardless, I shall introduce myself. I'm an avid reader from Holtsville, looking to find some book worm friends to discuss current reads with. I'm also a CBB (compulsive book buyer) and have way too many books, more then the average 23 year old should have.
Tell me about yourselves, favorite genres and such, I'd love to hear back from someone!
