Aaron Hi all... I want to read a good fantasy/Scifi book about alchemy any suggestions?

Dhanusha | 109 comments I've heard the The Alchemyst series by Michael Scott is good. Haven't personally read it, but was recommended to me by a friend.

Dana Simpson (danasimpson) Yes; The Alchemist by Michael Scott is a series of books that I am very fond of. I also found out that they are going to make a movie based on the first book; chucked full of excellent actors.

Devan One of my favorite series is "The Winter of the World" by Michael Scott Rohan. It is an oldie, but a goodie! It mostly focuses on blacksmithing, but book 2 has quite a bit of alchemy.

Good books but they are more young adult than adult. Just for your info.

James (morewordsfaster) | 23 comments Yeah, I'll second Age of Unreason by Greg Keyes. Terrific series and great usage of alchemy. Alchemy comes up in quite a few of the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett, often with hilarious results. Also in Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle and a lot of steampunk works like Gordon Dahlquist's Glass Books series or George Mann's Newbury & Hobbes books.
