Any opinions at all are welcome.

This is a great piece! Please extend it, if possible. I would love to see it published.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you, it's wonderful.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, I agree. WHat's your inspiration?

...*What, not WHat...

message 10: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments Just life haha. I read ton's of books, and listen to alot of out there music. David Foster Wallace has been one of my huge influences lately, James Joyce is who I style my prose after, Modest Mouse, Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers for musical inspiration, Da Vinci and Dali paintings, Kerouac mysticism, Buddhist Philosophy are also huge for me.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

You read Oscar Wilde? The Happy Prince is so sad... :'(

message 12: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments I have not yet, although I do plan on it.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Here's a link. Hey, Jin, you can read this too. It's long, but if you're a fast reader it'll only take about fifteen minutes or so....

message 14: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments Haha, I'm actually writing a poem, maybe here in a bit.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

That's pretty cool. Summary, please?

message 16: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments Haha, I'm attempting to create a dream sequence.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Interesting.

message 18: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments It's interesting at best, but it isn't going to make sense to anyone haha

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

It's very good. At the end, you might want to make an abrupt stop using punctuation, since the rest floats around like a dream(which it is) and you could use:

vapid walls boring bed-sheets
shabby shades, the kaleidoscopic splendor
replaced.

Just a suggestion, though you don't have to use it. It is quite good. You have a vast vocabulary. :)

message 21: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments I like my words :)

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

That's good. You chose them.

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/4...

Short Story that won a little contest.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I can see why... :D how old are you? This is pretty good writing. . . some of the words, I don't even know.!

message 25: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments I'm 16.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

You going to consider writing as a career?

message 27: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments It is my preferred career at this point.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I hope you succeed in it.

message 29: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments I hope I do too haha XD

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

That's understandable... i'd be surprised if you didn't.

message 31: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments Haha, I'm not getting my hopes up, but that's the field I'm working towards

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Do you have plans for writing any books or anything like that?

message 33: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments Right now, I'm just writing short stories and stuff, but I do have a few novel ideas.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Would you mind telling me about them? XD I always get these ideas for a book, but it's hard to keep it going and then taper it down for an ending....it's very difficult. :o

message 35: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments Well one I had was a fictionalized account of Socrates teaching Plato, because to my knowledge, that has never been done. Another was a guy working at a news station, television, and going through the realization that nothing the station presented as news was real because it's all subjected to bias, and that nothing is really true anyway, etc.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

That's pretty interesting.
lolz! Whenever I hear someone say Socrates, or Plato, or someone like that, I remember the quote from the Princess Bride:
"Ever heard of Plato? Aristotle? Socrates? ....morons."
That's my favorite movie.

message 37: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 19 comments Ahhh.
