So Mihali has a "knack" for creating food out of anything. He believes he's Adom reborn - Adom being the non-divine brother of Kresimir. Sent to an Asylum for his claims though really his family just wanted his inheritance - which he escapes by baking himself into a cake...as you do.

He's a very interesting character looking forward to see where the story goes with him.

Nila I think isa big part of this.

The Barbers sound like an interesting lot. I wonder if they like meat pies - I keep thinking of Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet St - fits the setting too I think.

I'm really enjoying all the subplots. I find Mihali's the most interesting, but there is a lot going on in this section:

Taniel disobeying orders and leaving Bo alive. Julene's betrayal, the start of a war, spies and assassins. Plus just what is Nila up to? Presumably a rescue attempt? We've heard nothing about the little boy at this point.

So it also looks like the reason Taniel was able to survive the fall at the University may have been due to Ka-Poel's protective sorcery.

Ah yeah. She's an intriguing character. In fact all his female characters seem to be.

Julene is this badass whose been pretending to be a privileged, who is apparently planning to summon a god.

This is the bit where it really gets going.

I think something is up with the squash soup.
