My book is really interesting to me because I watch the show and it's so different. This book has witches vampires and romance. The has two characters that find each other and then fall in love. Elena: is the golden girl, the leader, the one who can have any boy she wants. starts to fall in love with Stefan: brooding and mysterious, he seems to be the only one who can resist Elena, even as he struggles to protect her from the horrors that haunt his past.

I agree with you Brianna. The books are much better than the show (except for the kitsune part). Bonnie in the books was very cute, on the contrary, in the show she is so rude and always on the verge of getting mad at someone. I seriously despise Jeremy (i don't know why). So in short i prefer the books than the show.
I desagree...I statted the books just fine but them they changed a lot and I couldn't even finish the series. The tv series I love it. Every character that I love on the tv series I don't like at the books and the same happens the other way around.
I've read the first three books and I just couldn't continue. the only thing I love in the books are Damon & Elena moments, and not even them are worth of reading the plot that is dull and simply boring. on the other hand, TV show has well developed three seasons, with forth and fifth being one epic failure.
I gave up on the TV show at the end of season 4, I think. I just got bored with it to be honest. I want to try reading the four original TVD books and TVD: the return trilogy. I don't know if I'll read any after that because of the ghost writing. Can anyone tell me if this is going to be a waste of my time?

I didn't care for the books at all. They were horrible. I read the 1st 3 (couldn't believe I got through them) and then stopped at the half way point in book 4. I just couldn't go on. IMO, the show was way better(well at least the 1st 3 seasons were) than the books ever were. I made it to the end of the 5th season of the show, but I had really started to loathe the show a bit in it's 4th season. So I won't be back for season 6. But still with my dislike that I have for the show now, I still dislike the books more.
