what happened?

They were 'in love' in heaven. But Lucifer wanted to overthrow God. Lucinda didn't exactly agree with Lucifer's views and poured her heart out to Daniel, thus falling in love with him.

When it finally came to the crunch about choosing sides, Lucinda didn't get to choose before the fall....which is what they all meant when they said that Lucinda will flip the balance with her choice.

Lucinda chose Daniel.

Just finished reading Rapture this morning.
Since the beginning of the series I was in love with Daniel...BUT THEN
Rapture happened. I did not expect to fall for another character, least of all LUCIFER! And it happened in less than a chapter.
I really really fell HARD. I've been (ugly) sobbing so much when he and Lucinda were at the Fall. She was so cold to him and he was obviously broken and desperate for her.
So now I ship them. Yeah yeah I guess there must be something wrong with me.

What they had was obssession and infatuation, it wasn't real love that's why they didnt work out, that was also why with one kiss Daniel was able to steal Luce away. The fickle nature of Luce's heart, to be swayed away so easily and quickly is one if the things that annoyed me.

Exactly. She's been like that for most of the series. That's why I don't really think her love is pure or as strong as she likes to believe. It doesn't even equal Daniel's love for her.
Why did Lauren Kate have to add Lucifer into the equation? I was still trying to get over the fact that he was actually Bill. Now i'm re-reading Passion and He is very funny and caring towards Luce. It must have been painful for him to stay and convince her that Daniel's love was true. That's what I don't get at all. Why didn't he just appear before her as his beautiful self inside the announcer? For sure Luce would be attracted to him right away. She wouldn't remember that he was Lucifer and she still had doubts about Daniel. He could've used his charm to win her back -_- *sigh*
I would have been happy with the ending if I didn't know she loved someone else before Daniel.
(LxL) I believe what they had was love, at first. But then it morphed into something darker and she hadn't done her duty as Lucifer's Evening Light to save him from himself. Instead she took the easy way out and found some other guy.
Of course, I could be biased about this.

so what happened exactly is;
Luce went through the announcer and got lost. A weird thing named bill showed up and showed her Daniel's love for her was true. Later on he reveals himself to be Lucifer. He tells her they were madly in love back when they were in heaven. There love went dark and she didn't want him. So them she met Daniel and BAM! True love.

Now that you've pointed out all of those things, the fire I have for LxL pairing is flaring up. They deserve more fanfictions for their own ending.
