Rijo quietly walked on the sand, sighing heavily. Today keeps getting worse, and it always will now. He finds it hard to trust people, and some people finding out his secret was proof that he shouldn't trust anyone yet. He slowly sat down with his feet in the clear blue ice water, laying on his back to stare at the clear blue sky. Though today was getting worse, he found it useless if he were to complain about it, it would be quite childish in his eyes. So he didn't, the sound of the ocean was calm enough for him to ignore his thoughts and drift off to a light sleep.
Out of sheer luck was the beach the first place Chalice ran to. Her intuition was gravitating her in the direction of Rijo, the entire time she was calling his name. "Rijo! Rijo!" She shouted frantically.
Rijo grunted, he hadn't slept all night so awakening to a girl screaming wasn't a pleasant feeling. He slowly opened his eyes right when she got a few feet from him as he looked at her, "what?"
"My dad!" She gasped for air after running a good three miles. "The room and the claw marks and I don't know what to do! He's missing what do I do?" Chalice started to break out into tears. Despite giving her dad sass and disappointing him every minute of his existence, she loved him and she couldn't bear the thought of him being hurt.
Rijo blinked, shocked to see the girl actually had feelings before he got up, asking,"wheres the last place your dad was seen?"
Rijo frowned, whispering, "calm down.." he quietly sighed before taking a small sniff at the air and suddenly he saw an orange mist like trail leading towards her dad. (wolfbloods, once they sniff the air, a weird mist like trail leads them to where they need to go, but only they can see the trail)
((Okay.))"What do you mean calm down? My dad is missing and my house looks like it's been used as a scratching post by a bloody werewolf!" Chalice replied and pushed him hard on the chest. She couldn't believe he didn't care. It was so stupid of her to think anything had changed because he'd been nice to her in the woods.
Rijo barely budged, not seeming to notice that she pushed him before he quickly heads in the direction her father is in. (wheres her father?)
(its ok lol and ok um.. I don't feel like moving topics again so we can say he's in a cave on the beach if you want)
((Okay, sure, better than any plan I could come up with.))Chalice wiped her eyes and stomped angrily after Rijo. It didn't dawn on her that he already had a head start on finding her dad. "Are you even listening? Or are you just going to sulk on your way to your god damn grave?!?"
Rijo stops to find her father asleep on the cave floor. He has faint wounds but nothing too serious and they seem to already be healed as he quietly sighed, "the wolf didn't follow him.."
"Dad!" Chalice ran to her dad's side and she wrapped her arms around him. "Oh thank goodness you're okay." She whispered to herself and tried to pull her unconscious father to where he was sitting up.
Rijo quietly sighed, watching them for a minute before turning, slowly exiting the cave. (still at the beach though lol)
Chalice rest her forehead on her father's with relief, but she turned around when she no longer felt Rijo's presence. "Rijo, wait!" She stood and hurried out of the cave after him.
He stops, sighing as he says calmly for once, not turning around,"im not going far, if I do the wolf might be back, and both your father and you need to rest.."
"I'm glad you're here. I couldn't have found my dad without you." Chalice spoke softly and looked at her feet. He deserved that much for finding her father. She played with her fingers behind her back back and kicked up some sand. "I guess what I'm trying to say is... Thank you."
Rijo glanced back at her, seeming unsure of whats going on before he faintly smiles, nodding, "anytime Chal" He figured since she gave him a nickname that he should give her one too, though that's the best he could come up with at the moment.
Chalice raised an eyebrow at the nickname, but she decided not to give him shit about it since he did just find her dad. Instead she went back into the cave to where her dad was and sat next to him. He was too heavy to get home and eventually she fell asleep on his should like she used to when she was little.
Rijo sat against the outside of the cave a few hours later, stareing up at the cresent moon in the dark sky.
Chalice's dad woke up a few times, but he hit his head hard enough that he was a bit delusional so she made him go back to sleep. She left the cave and sat next to Rijo in the sand. "Why haven't you gone home yet?" She asked him.
Rijo quietly sighed,"i have my reasons.. im up for a fight so if I stay you can know you're safe and I might get a fight out of it. we both win.." he remained looking out at the darkness, his blue eyes seeming to reflect a lot just like the beautiful ocean that surrounded them.
((Okay!))"Hmmphf." Chalice looked out at the ocean. She loved to surf, but she couldn't get this off her mind. Why would Rijo even listen to her in the first place? A fight didn't seem like a good enough reason to her.
((i was wrong, I have a few minutes left))
Rijo quietly sighed, stareing out at the ocean. He seemed please that she didnt notice that the real reason he was staying was because A, he had no where else to go, and B, he felt somewhat relaxed around her, though he doesnt realize it yet.

((Well I didn't... :())Chalice sighed and hugged her knees. "So are you going to explain to me what's happening? About what you are? What you do in the woods all the time? I notice you all the time."
Rijo sighs,"im what people call a wolfblood.. Meaning I have a wolf's blood in my vains. I change when angry, on full moons, and in the fire and.. I stay in the woods because I live in a cabin there by myself"
He glances up at her,"not many people survive around me, or they try killing me which leads to me killing them. So usually I dont have others willing to be near me once they find out what I am other then you.. So lonely or not, I dont have much choice"
"Well Hon, sorry to point out the obvious, but you're a freak. Then again, everyone says I'm a freak too so I guess that explains why I don't care. You're still that weird shadow kid I see in the woods almost everyday." Chalice observes. It's not that often that she will admit something about herself which is why she was surprised that she admitted it someone she virtually just met.
He whispers harshly,"im not a monster" he sighs, looking away,"most arent.. But the wild wolfbloods make us seem like we are.."
"I never said anything about being a monster dumb ass." Chalice replied and rolled her eyes. "People are just afraid of what they don't understand."
"Then I'd be afraid of myself, and that's just fucking stupid." Chalice answered, glancing over at Rijo. When she saw he was looking at her she felt shivers run down her spine.
He quickly looks away when she looks at him as he lays on his back,"it was just a question chal.." He stares up at the stars in thought.
"Fine. I'm not afraid of you. I'm fucking terrified of what you can do. But never of you." Chalice answered with a more blunt reply.
"Being able to do something isn't the same as doing it." Chalice pointed out. She wasn't going to back down from this.
He glances at her, studying her every movements and emotions long and hard before replying,"it's just us you know girl, you can stop the tough act because I'm not buying it."
"Well what do you want me to do? Break down and cry about how broken I am and how much my life sucks? Because that's not a secret." Chalice rolled her eyes. What was the point of being soft? Being tougher than most girls is what makes her different. It's one of the few things she understands about herself.
Rijo sighs, finding it pointless to argue back so he just stares at the sky silently. The moon lightly shines in his eyes and reflects in his black hair as he puts his arms behind his head.
Chalice huffed out a sigh. "Whatever, it was pointless anyway." She hugged her knees to her chest and looked away from him with a pout. Unfortunately for her, Chalice was awful at communicating her feelings. She wanted to be closer to Rijo.
Rijo quietly sighs, sitting up as he scoots closer to her, stareing at her intensly as if trying to read her emotions.
Chalice glanced back over to see Rijo sitting very close and studying her. "Wh-What?" She didn't move, but her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. She was glad for the cover of darkness. Even though her cheeks felt hot, they looked chapped from the late autumn cold and the wind.
Rijo faintly smiles for once as he jokes, stareing in her eyes,"you scared now?" He was studying the light that reflected in her perfect eyes, loving how gentle they looked dispite her attitude.
"N-no!" She sputtered, and it was the truth. Her heart was beating faster for a different reason. He was so... Close. She glanced at his lips. They looked soft, unlike hers that had a scar from a bad fight. He had chisled features that made Chalice's heart squirm. It wasn't fear, but she couldn't quite understand this feeling.
Rijo smirks, whispering in her ear,"then why is your heart beating fast..? Can you explane that much..?" He loved how delightful she smelled to him, and how soft her hair looked, he was just asking so he could be closer to her.
