Hi! I'm not a mum, but a sister to a young baby. I think it is a great idea to share the books you are reading with everyone and I plan to read to 'my' baby!
Hiya! I'm a stay at home mom to my sweet little Goober (almost 15 months old now) whom I love trying to read to. She currently likes turning the pages of board books and looking at the pictures mostly but sometimes lets me read to her what is on some of the pages. I hope to pass along to her (and future kids) my love of reading and think it would be cool if she learned to read long before she even enters school.
awww my brother is 6 months so we have only read simple books to him like the very hungry caterpillar and stuff like that (board books) he has also enjoyed the book 'Hooray for fish'!!
Welcome guys! I am reading at least a book a night to her just before bed. She just turned 5-months old today so I'm sure she's not exactly comprehending everything. But, I can weed through all these books to find the gems that I know she'll love when she gets old enough. I'm in love with my public library and have a huge stack of books to choose from every night. Fun stuff!
Hi all! I've been reading to my 17 month old everyday since she was born. She LOVES books and since becoming more independent she actually takes time in the day from her running all over the house to sit and enjoy her books, sometimes for more than 30 minutes at a time and at this age we all know that is a miracle. I read "The Read Aloud Handbook" and that was so inspiring and taught me a lot about the benefits of reading to children from when they are little, I recommend it to everyone! I always was a book lover growing up too and still am so I'm hoping her love for books will stick with her through the years =)

My name is Elke, and I am now a little over 5-months pregnant. I plan on reading to my little girl while she's still hanging out in the womb. Once she comes out, she'll be well versed in the world of children's literature.
So, what's your story?
