More Riyria?
Wait, does this mean there's not a prequel sequel following the Rose and the Thorn? o_O (I'm clearly out of the loop. My own fault, I was trying to avoid possible spoilers. [Not unique to this board, just anywhere there's involving an ongoing series I'm reading.])
@Krud...not at this time, no. The prequels were written as a duology, but I'd like to write more (I actually have outlines of other adventures) but I'd rather end too soon than stay to long.
Okay, I just finished the second book (I was only most of the way through the second prequel when I'd written that), and now I can see what you mean about the duology.
@Krud - yep things are knitted up nicely but there is room for more stories if people really want them. I'll be evaluating in April (which is the time when my current project should be completed).
You know, the one thing the poll was missing (it may be that it would have made the results too muddled) was any way of ranking the requests. For instance, I'd love to read Esrahaddon's origin story, or the fall of the First Empire; but not nearly as much as I'd like more of the Chronicle stories, or a sequel to Revelations that gives us a glimpse into Erivan with Royce and Mercy and more on all our beloved characters. So... I remember voting for most all of the options. I believe I added the thoughts about which I'd like best in the comments (it was quite a while ago and so it's hard to remember for sure) but I imagine it's difficult to track all the individual comment sections when you're looking at quantifiable results. So just for the record, for now I'm excited for more Chronicles; and I know my family and friends are of this opinion as well. :-)
Thanks Amanda - As I get closer to the point where I need to make a decision I may make it a "ranking" thing.
@Michael - thanks! Glad to hear you want more.

Nice Mary! I'm so glad you are interested in more. If you drop me an email at michael.sullivan.dc@gmail.com I'll send you an afterword that you might enjoy.
Done. Of course we want more Riyria. You have to ask that? :) I read the first question: Oh, that'll be fun. Yes, that too. Oh, I'll love that.
I didn't chose all the options, only three (yeah, that was hard), but I love them all.
Thanks @Gandalfgrijs & @John. And yeah, I do have to ask as I don't want to be "that guy" who doesn't know that they just kept going on even though no one was interested any longer ;-)
Finished all of the Revelations, and just started the Chronicles, but I know I'll go through the two books quickly! They are all just fantastic stories! I very much hope to see more coming!!
@Gilda - I think there will definitely be one more than I'll take the pulse again.
@Cheryl - yes ma'am! Will do my best.
@Cheryl - yes ma'am! Will do my best.
I'm so addicted to all of your books, so Michael, if you want me to sleep peacefully at night, please please please write more Riyria stories!!!
Is it addiction if you've read all the published books yet you go out and buy the audiobooks and listen to them, only to start feeling something like anxiety when the last of the audiobooks nears the last recorded chapter? Is it some sort of infatuation with Hadrian and/or Royce? Congrats Michael on creating such a reaction to your books. It's been a very exciting adventure so far. I know you're busy creating more to feed our addiction and for that I thank you.
I am one of those who read and listened to the series, I loved it so. I wanted to do both to see how a different medium might affect my view of the story. I am not an audio fan, but I have to say, I thought Tim Gerard Reynolds was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed the audio version of this series, maybe even more than reading it.Anyone else listen to it? What were your thoughts?
@Xan I first met Royce & Hadrian in audio after reading great reviews here on GR about the Riyria books. Tim's narration is awesome and it just drew me into the whole world. I think he is particularly good with dialog and the witty banter between Royce & Hadrian that Michael does so well. I've since read some of the books in print, but will forever hear them in my head with Tim's narration.
Yes, Cheryl. Reynolds brought Royce, Hadrian, Arista, and Saldur to life (as well as many others). I wonder if I will ever forget the voices he gave those characters. You can see the darkness in Royce's voice, and Hadrian's good nature in his. But Saldur. Oh. I keep hearing his wickedness in his.
@Feilicia - I'll keep one eye open...but I shouldn't have to much longer because I think it is pretty clear now that I'll be writing at least one more Riyria Chronicle. I'll take the temperature again after that, but the results of this poll, and the feedback and emails I'v received have let me know that the pair hasn't yet worn out their welcome.
@Jenn - you are most welcome...and thank you for all the amazing support. I am indeed hard at work, and hope that you all will love the stuff I'm writing now as much as I do.
@Xan Shadowflutter - I agree! Tim Gerard Reynolds has been an exceptional narrator for The Riyria books and he elevates it to a whole new level. I'm so glad you got a chance to hear him.
@Cheryl - I think you are not alone - Tim's voice has become "The" voice for the series. I'm so glad to have had him aboard.
I've read a lot of fantasy books since I've read all of Royce and Hadrian's adventures and I can say I'm definitely looking for more. My list of friends and friends of friends who have now read and love your stories continues to grow. Thanks for everything you do and keep on writing.
Have read all of the books and loved them! Definitely one of my favourite series and hoping to get my husband into reading by introducing them to him! More would be fantastic! Can't wait! :)
Michael ~ I will NEVER get enough of Riyria - or other stories from that world that don't feature Riyria (such as Esrahaddon's story or others that are well before Royce and Hadrian's time)!Kim ~ I hear ya. LOL I absolutely LOVE Hadrian.
One of my favoite series! I'd love more Riyria! I'd also really like to read more about Arista and Myron.
I'm so glad to hear that so many people want more Riyra. I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that thee WILL be a third book - and hopefuly coming out this year. If you want to add it to your shelves. Here is a link: Book #3 (Untitled)
I have a title now and a description. Here goes:
Three times they tried to kill her. Then they hired a professional. She hired Riyria.
When the last member of the oldest noble family in Avryn is targeted for assassination, Riyria is hired to foil the plot. Three years have past since the war-weary mercenary Hadrian and a cynical ex-assassin Royce joined forces to start life as thieves-for-hire. Things have gone well enough until they receive the odd assignment to prevent a murder. Now they must venture into a forgotten corner of southern Avryn—a place that predates the empire. As usual, challenges abound as they try to anticipate the moves of an unknown assassin before it’s too late. But that's not their only problem as The Countess of Dulgath hides a dark secret she's determined to remain hidden. Then there's the little matter about Riyria's new employer...the Nyphron Church.
From the best-selling author of The Riyria Revelations, comes the third installment of The Riyria Chronicles.
