A.R. Simmons (arsimmons) | 36 comments Dianne, I love your commentary.
As a boomer of the first class, I see much of what you say about resisting change in myself. It's the "good old days" syndrome, isn't it?
Those were wonderful days, and it was a wonderful world because it was young and so were we. If we were meant to live in the past, perhaps we would all have eyes in the back of our heads.
One of my favorite celebrities is Red Schoendienst, a hall-of-famer who still suits up for the St. Louis Cardinals each year. He says being around the today's players keeps him young.
I also seem to remember from my psychology classes that "new experience" is one of our basic social needs.

Sybil Powell (sybilpowell) | 58 comments The good old days still have a lot to recommend them at least in England, judging by to days standards they were rough. I experianced being bombed in the last world war (I was very young) but the fellowship then seems to have disappeared to day and there are plenty of good reads to back my theory

Jim Vuksic The best thing about the "good old days" is that, back then, I wasn't good and I wasn't old.

Stan Morris (morriss003) I change on the outside, but I'm still the same old hippie inside. Still crazy after all these years. Still bogarting the number. Still determined to destroy racial discrimination. Still wearing jeans.
