Profanity in books?

When reading a book, how do you feel about swearing in the text? If you see a curse word do you immediately throw the book down and walk away, are you indifferent, do you love books that swear? What is an acceptable amount for you?

I couldn't care less, I don't swear but lots people do swear and if your character is put in a difficult situation it makes the book more realistic having them swear. It also depends on the character, because some people do swear more than others. I don't prefer books that swear nor do I prefer books that don't use that kind of language. If swearing fits the book then Authors shouldn't be afraid to do so.
