Grrr, the video can't be played on the Fire, but I think I've seen this one. She's in her 80s, and includes a walk in the gardens?

Most videos do, but some aren't enabled for mobile apps or some such excuse I get. I could just Fire up the desktop...
I love the mischievous look in her smile. She really did invent the romantic suspense genre, just because they were the type of books she'd have liked to have read - brave woman!
I am a bit late to the group, but I am extremely happy to have found it. Thank you for the video post! I have been a fan of Mary Stewart’s for years and this is the first time I’ve seen her “in person”. I am excited to explore the rest that the group has to offer.
I believe I had watched this before, but it was well worth watching again. I am grateful every day for the gift that was Mary Stewart.

Oh yes - I love the fact that she was capable of writing so well in very different genres. An amazingly talented and erudite woman - with, as she said herself, - a true gift for story telling!
And doesn't she seem approachable and kindly. I suspect she is someone who would have made a valued friend and an unforgettable teacher. Of course, that comes through in her writing as well.
In the introduction to the new edition of "The Wind of the Small Isles" her niece talks about how wonderful "Auntie Mary" was. Her husband was a geologist and she use to accompany him on his study trips, being photographed against stratified rocks to give an idea of the scale. If I remember "Thunder to the Right" had a lot of geological detail.Helpful husband :). Like Georgette Heyer's lawyer husband was of help in her detective novels.

I just watched this today. What an articulate and interesting person. She clearly knew her own abilities but without a trace of arrogance about it. Thank you for posting this Susan.
