ok so as an aspiring blogger and book reviewer--- i want to know.... do yall read reviews before you buy a book? if so what specifically do you look for to draw you in or push you away? Quotes from the book?? what works and doesn't work for you when it comes to reviews?

Great question! I first look at the ratings spread. If it looks intriguing, I absolutely read the reviews! I've always been sensitive to people that simply attack a book and so I ignore tirades. I'm looking to see if the majority of the people enjoyed it.

Actually the first thing I read are the bad reviews and then the good reviews. If I find a theme in the bad reviews (stuff I probably won't like either) then I won't buy a book.

I do read the reviews. Sometimes though I find myself looking to the artwork on the cover. I did that on Delia's first book. Never read any reviews just bought it. I guess it's 50/50.
