*forever crying because my comment didn't save and I don't know if I can replicate my exact thoughts*

This section made me so happy and frustrated at the same time. Lemony Snicket plays the stick-and-carrot game very well with his readers...

I thought the letter to his sister was an interesting change of pace. It was a little annoying for him to get around the warning to read another part of the book instead of continuing on with Violet and Klaus' part of the story, but whatever. Something this part reminded me of is I love that Lemony Snicket is not only the author (pen name whatever), but he's the narrator, and he's a character in the story with an actual role. I don't think it would be too far of a stretch to think that maybe the unidentified man in the picture in the Snicket file is Lemony himself. Hm.

And speaking of all of that, I'm even more curious to know who the man and woman are. It's a bit annoying that he withheld their names, but hopefully that question can be answered soon. Probably not this book, knowing his writing style. Most likely in the next book or something, who knows. And would Olaf just keep blabbing about the fires and everything because I'm dying to know more!

Speaking of Olaf, his troupe is getting some of their own character development--one of the white-faced women was actually being sympathetic to Sunny. I was so surprised, like when did this start happening? It is so nice for at least one Baudelaire to be thrown a bone every so often...

Ah, and along with the troupe, is anyone else thinking that Esme's red coat with the B is Beatrice's coat? Just a thought...

Because I mentioned Sunny earlier, I'm so proud of her like I've watched her grow up or something. Well actually we all kind of have. That's such a nice feeling to feel like you've grown up with a character... But look at her real words! And the mixed up, near-correct phrases! Whenever the Baudelaires are reunited, they're going to be so shocked at her new skills! I'm just so happy.

And I'm so happy, my spidey-sense was correct! Quigley! Mark this on your calendars, friends, I'm never right about anything like this... Never mind the deja vu feeling from whenever I read this forever ago once as a kid.

Just because it's Lemony Snicket and when does anything go right or happy, I'm sure Quigley won't be seen again after this book. Just because we're not allowed happiness in this series. I kind of want to see more of him because I feel he could be a really cool character.

I think I actually wrote this better than the original. Yay.
