This is for discussion on the Chapter 33, Chapter 34, Chapter 35, and Chapter 36. It's okay to post spoilers.
Discussion questions:
Do you think Isabel and Alex should have gotten married?
What do you think about Isabel's decision to move to Chicago?
When Alex finds out that Isabel was with Jesse the night before their wedding, do you think his reaction was justified?
What are your thoughts on how Alex and Isabel celebrated their seventh anniversary?
What do you think about Jesse going to the funeral?
What do you think Jesse and Alex talked about at the funeral?
Do you think Alex and Isabel made the right decision to move back home or should they have stayed in Chicago?

I thought I read an excerpt of Chapter 36 in Jesse's view but now I can't find it. If anyone else finds it, can you post it here.

Sheena Lumsden I think it was right they got married, Alex is Isa's rock, he has her heart, yes she still had a love for Jesse but even Isa knew at the day of the wedding that she belonged to Alex."I couldn’t breathe but only for a moment. I’m not sure what it was, but just as quickly, a feeling of calmness washed over me. I knew what I had to do right then and there.", I felt with this Isa knew that Jesse was her past, yes she loved him and had a connection to him but Alex was her future, the calmness she felt knowing that her heart now belonged to Alex, he was her match

It was right their move to Chicago, it was needed to start a fresh new life the two of them without pasts and complications.

The turmoil that Isa felt keeping to herself the whole Jesse event the night before her marriage to Alex had to be addressed and as difficult as she felt doing it she knew it had to be said, yes Alex was hurt, who wouldn't be but the fact that Isa knew herself that he was her life was a remarkable step forward and no one could argue with Alex walking away then, his heart had been ripped by Isa at that moment, he needed to think about everything and Isa breaking down like that about what she had done just tore at my heart, yes she needed to let Alex know so they could move on but it was so emotional, you cannot help but cry at this part for both of these lovely people. This quote by Isa is another of my favourites as to me she is opening up fully to Alex about her feelings and her realisation of how much she loves Alex. "From the first time we were together, you saved my life . You saved my soul. You made me want to make you proud. You made me realize that I deserved better. You made me unafraid to love you. My wounds are healed because of you.”

"I’d rather have a part of your heart than none of it at all.” This is my ultimate quote from Alex to me it shows Isa just how much he loves her and wants her for who she is, that love will never fade, a love like his to Isa is steadfast. I was sad when Isa's Mum did the lawsuits, that broke my heart but to me she was lashing out, she was not well and it was more or less the husband she had at the time but it also made me sad for Isa having to cut all ties with her mum.

I could see why Jesse wanted to go to the funeral he knew the family for years and I actually thought it very sweet of him to do all the catering, I feel he did it to show Isa that he cared and still cared for her but to take the pressure of her as well.

I think Alex and Jesse were chatting and maybe clearing the air but pleasant how are things kind of chat, asking how each other had been nothing bad.

The move back home was at the right time, they were sold the two of them, they had a love that will never go away but they had new lives now and it was time that Alex did stuff for himself and Isa came back to her family, it was the right time for both of them, they were both stronger in each other.

The fact that Isa dealt with Jesse over the franchise was a test to see how she would deal with it but Isa did it with style and grace and all the while knowing that her husband Alex supported her and loved her no matter what and I think Jesse saw that and felt it even though he didn't want to.

Barbara I felt so sorry for Isa when she was remembering Jesse arriving at the wedding, a day she should remember as happy is tarnished.
And finally telling Alex about spending the night before their wedding with Jesse was so heat breaking, and Alex walking out.
He did have a right to walk out at the least to to take some time to think things thru. "There goes his heart"
I loved the scene where Isa is telling Alex what she was going to write him, and the lovemaking after is like a reconnecting of sorts. Heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time.
I understood why Isa felt like she needed to move away and do think that was the only hope that her and Alex could really begin anew.
And to have her Mother upset with her over her grandfathers will very sad, and then to find out that her mother was ill.

Arriving back home seems to be very emotional for Isa to be in her mothers home. And then to find out the Jesse wants to help with mothers funeral dinner, like he had the right to even do that.
Loved when the sisters were talking about Alex and Isa remembers When we reached that milestone in our marriage, he celebrated having more years in my life than Jesse. “Seven years and one day. Score!” he said that night. And score he did. Over and over again.

Isa having to attend her Mothers funeral was very sad and emotional. Seeing Jesse at the funeral seemed to take Isa for a loop.
My heart absolutely broke when Isa froze when it was time to stand with her sisters at the funeral, and as always she turns to Alex and he is there for her.
Isa and her sisters having to witness their grandmothers so emotional over losing her daughter so sad.
I love the discussions that Isa and Alex have that night as they were alone about moving back and Isa telling him how sorry she was for making him move.
His reassurance that he did not regret moving when he said “I will never ever regret what we did because it brought you back to me.”

I did not really like the meeting with Jesse as I just felt like it got to personnel with the I love you and such!!
She did get her answers as to why Jesse acted the way he did when they had made love the first time.
And again I think Jesse was out of line to say this
“Isa, when we see each other again, whether it’s tomorrow or next week or years and years from now. Whenever you see me. Look into my eyes from across the room wherever I am, wherever you are, and know that I LOVE … YOU. That’s never going to change. Look into my eyes now and feel it. It will always be only you, no matter what, no matter when.”

The epilogue was amazing to see a little in the future as to how they were doing. Alex back to the family business, Isa working her mothers businesses and being reunited with her sisters
She states that she has ran into Jesse but that it was just a look at that was it.
This is love. This is what I’ve been looking for. I’d like to think that a love that develops and grows is the love that lasts a lifetime.
And then we learn that after so long that Isa and Alex are having another baby so sweet and heartwarming.

We end with “I love you, Alex.” “I love you, Isabel. Always and forever.”
