It is too bad that Donovan's story was not very good. I had really been looking forward to it. It was almost like the book was rushed to completion because the story idea was very good.
YEAH I AGREE THAT DONAVAN'S STORY WAS GOOD BUT NOT GREAT, BUT I LIKED IT ESPECIALLY RUSTY'S PARTS BUT HEY I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE.
I liked Vans story, I think it fit his personality very well. I love the KGI series and cant wait for swany's story, and rustys story that was a surprise =)
I love KGI & all of their stories. I really liked Van's story & was pleased with the outcome. I'd had my suspicions of a Rusty/Sean development since Rusty first entered the scene. the two of them together or near one another always reminded me of the classic scene of the schoolyard boy pulling the pigtails of the girl (or putting a frog/worms in her pocket/down her dress). They've had that age-old dance vibe from the beginning, so yeah, it was a big happy-dance moment to me.I also hope Ms Banks will give us a look into Sky & Edge's life, even if in novella length.
I am so excited about rusty and sean story. I wonder how the rest of the KGI clan will take to them being together.
@Joanne I imagine that if we, as readers, have picked up on some of the nuances & tensions that have surrounded the two of them, that the ever-astute Kelly clan has too. I'm betting that they're just keeping a close eye on things and will eventually feel the need to give Sean the typical "We're like brothers, but I'll still pound you if you break her heart" speech... one-by-one! :))
@ tina Lol true I can see them saying that. I am sure Joe will say he knew all a long. I wish these guys we real, that would be a trip I would want to make. Go to the Kelly compound. I live this family
After the Storm was fantastic. Donavan and Eve are perfect for each other. I can't wait for Rusty and Sean's story. Love the little visions into their attraction for each other. I love how Maya Banks is bringing additional characters into the teams so that this series can go on.
I'm excited for Joe's story as well. It seems we dont know too much about him yet and I cant wait to learn more.
@ sarah,I think the women for Joe is a very strong one , like PJ. Not a damsel in distress, someone that can give it as good as he gives. =)
Agreed. As the confirmed bachelor w/ that "no way am I getting tied down" attitude, Joe deserves a gal that is a strong-willed, highly-independent bachelorette with absolutely NO desire to become somebody's "little wife". She'll likely need to be current or former law enforcement, military, martial arts/self-defense expert, first responder... something strong to equal & challenge him, but with a history that she can understand some of what he went through when his army unit was ambushed & he injured. It would be even better if she is nothing at all like his normal "type" & I hope she leaves him chasing his tail in confusion (not in a malicious manner). It would be good for him to work for it. (Not to mention, entertaining as hell!)
@ tina, wow you and I are on the same track with Joe's and his story and it would be an awsome book to see him so wrapped around him self on how to get a women that wont fall for normal charms. LOL Now let make sure Maya knows this as well =)
Van's story was a little weak but this series had always had it's ups and downs. I didn't like what happened to PJ and I thought the whole paranormal detour with the mind reading and healing was out of left field. Having said that, I still love the Kelly family and will keep reading until the series completion.
i think when you bring in so many characters to a series some of the plot has to be a set up for future story lines and truthfully i sometimes like a character better in someone elses story.Van might fall into that category, he always seemed heroic in the other stories in an understated manner the steady stable brother who could be a soothing voice in the midst of chaos the one who makes sure no one falls through the cracks.
Melody wrote: "i think when you bring in so many characters to a series some of the plot has to be a set up for future story lines and truthfully i sometimes like a character better in someone elses story.Van mig..."Melody, I agree. I think when a character is not emotionally involved, they can be more objective. I think throughout the series we were seeing Van as the objective one and in this book, he was in love and therefore couldn't be objective.
I think it would be a blast to give Joe a bit of an artsy type. Totally non military.. Strong not flighty but a complete anethma to the family dynamics.. Of course no wilting Damsels in distress.. just totally different.
@ shauni, yes make her a youngest out of 6 brothers. Shows she knowns her was around a big family and how to handle Joe. Man I can not wait for his book, I hope it soon.
i am waiting for joe's storyjust a thought came to my mind wat if joe and skylar are paired

Yes! I'd like to see that though I hope Sean and Rusty's story comes out next!
And I do totally want to read what happens to Hancock!
Rio is not a Kelly but he's actually my favorite hero in this series thus far
