message 3: by Elle (new)

Elle | 6 comments The title of y nonfiction book is Sickened: The True Story Of A Lost Childhood. It is written by Julie Gregory. What made me want to read this book is that Mrs. Skaggs said that this book was kind of like A Child Called It, which i really loved. What hoooked me into reading it was the title and cover. it looks very initeresting. Also the summary hooked me into reading it. My persona interest in the topic is that i find it interesting and cruel and awful that a mother could do that to her own. the whole idea of the munchausen by proxy disease interests me.

Nicholas W (Nicholas_W) | 5 comments The title of my nonfiction book is Night. I wanted to read this book because it sounded good. I hate how simalar books give long, detailed explanations, but this book is fairly blunt. I got hooked into reading it because Mrs.Skaggs did a book talk on it and it looked good. I am not really interested in the topic.

message 16: by Bryce (new)

Bryce H. | 9 comments I'm reading Night by Elie Weisel, I personally am interested in World War 2 mostly around the Holocaust just because I think Hitler was a madman and crazy people interest me because I like to know what's going on in their minds and a lot of World War 2 books let me take details from the things Hitler did and form a personality and mindset of him so I can figure out what was wrong with him. As Tobuscus said, "Maybe there would be no war, if mommy would have hugged him more."

message 25: by Payton K. (new)

Payton K. | 6 comments I, like most other people, am reading night. I am interested in the holocaust, but what got me excited about it was what I discovered within the first chapter. In most Holocaust books that I have read, religion is hardly mentioned, but in this book he does talk about his religion. I feel like I understand a little piece of this book that almost no one else gets, and that my experience in this book is different than everyone else's. Very few people in this school know what the kaddish is, or the Talmud, or Rosh Hashannah. The fact that I get more out of this book than most just makes all the more enjoyable for me, like in in on some kind of secret.
