The Zodiacs discussion

Quaint café located in the center of the kingdom.

Alan walked into the café and looked down at his hand. It was turning blue, not bruise blue, but blue like ocean water. He would ask his mother about it. He took a seat after ordering a latte and touched his hand. It was cold.

After a long meeting with a few of the other originals, Aquarius was happy to be home. Scratch that. Happy to finally get her morning coffee. "Hey Chase." She smiled to the waiter as she took her usual booth near the windows. "Hey Aqua." He already came walking, coffee in hand. "The usual as always?" He asked setting down the cup. "As always." She said with a beaming smile. "Thank you!" She called to him as he walked away. She took out her phone, looking through some emails.

He looked around and his gaze stopped on her, Aquarius. She looked as lovely as ever. Chase, the waiter, walked over to his table and set down his coffee. He drummed his fingers along the table and nodded, "I should go talk to her." He took a sip of his latte and stood up. She's going to reject you. You're not worth her time. He cleared his throat next to her table. "Good morning, your majesty."

Caught off guard, she set down her phone and coffee. Her eyes drifted up to the stranger. "Hey." She smiled warmly, as he seemed so timid.

"I'm sorry for bothering you, I've just always wanted to meet you," he looked down at his shoes. "That probably sounded creepy. I'm sorry about that too."

"You don't have to apologize-Wow. I'm so rude." She chuckled to herself. "Please sit." She smiled at the kid in front of her. "What's your name?"

"Thank you," he smiled and sat across from her. "I'm Alan, Alan Springston." He started to stick out his discolored palm but thought it'd be wiser to stick out the other. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you."

She shook his hand lightly. "The pleasure is all mine Alan. So. Is there anything I could help you with or are you always this friendly?"

"Oh, I try to be nice and make friends. How cool would it be to say I was friends with the Aquarius?" He grinned and set his cup on the table.

"Well that's good. You should keep that with you. It might come in handy." She smiled. "How do you think I'm on good terms with all of the other Originals? This smile comes in handy sometimes." She chuckled. "But it's just a name." She said shrugging. "We're probably the same age right?"

"You're just so nice. I think I'm an Aquarius for a reason," he nodded as his grin spread. "Just a name. Do you know how many of the village girls dream of being you?" He put his hand under the table. "Are you sixteen?"

"It runs in the blood, but thank you." She squinted her eyes a little. "I mean, no? There's nothing to really be." Her shoulders shrugged as her expression changed. "Yea. Sixteen. I'm assuming you are too?" She questioned with curious eyes.

"Yes, yes I am," he tilted his head. "You seem so wise. Too wise to be sixteen, but you look sixteen. You're just incredibly smart?"

Aqua leaned back in her booth, knowing she could not reveal too much about the Originals. "Age is just a number." She grinned. "For the smarts part, I wouldn't say that. I just grew up too quickly. It's alright though." She shrugged. "No complaints." Her smile faltered.

"Grew up too quickly? Do you ever just break away from the Zodiac business and go have fun?" He crossed his arms and felt something run down his arm. He looked to see water and blushed. That's embarrassing!

"Hey now. If I tell you, I'd have to kill you." She winked jokingly. "As for that," she handed him a napkin, leaning closer, "it's normal." She gave a warm smile.

"I thought you were nice," he chuckled. "Ah, yeah. I'm just now discovering my powers. It's a bit difficult for me." He watched as she wiped his arm and his smile lit up. He presented his hand to her and twisted his face. "Is this normal?"

She noticed his smile brighten and smiled back. She set the napkin on the table and turned to look at his hand. Her eyes widened a bit, and she cleared her throat. "You're looking a bit blue there Alan." She chuckled. Aqua took his hand into hers and looked curiously. "Everyone's powers tend to present themselves in unique ways. Blue hands seems to be a new one on my list, but yes. Perfectly normal."

"So, I have nothing to worry about? My hand isn't going to fall off?" He looked at their hands and then at her face. She was so beautiful.

She gave him a lopsided grin. "I can promise you, your hand will not fall off." She looked at their hands, with a bit of widened eyes. "I'm so sorry." She pulled away her hand and leaned back in the booth.

"You shouldn't be sorry. You were just helping me, right?" Alan shook his hand a bit. He rubbed it with his other hand to try and warm it. He looked at her. "What's it like? Being an original, I mean."

Her eyes flickered up to Alan and back down to her lap. "Right. Helping." She shrugged. "Uhm-not all that interesting really. Busy and sometimes stressful, but other than that, I wouldn't trade this life. It's the one I've been given and I intend to honor my position."

He nodded and took a sip of his coffee. "Do you get to do cool Zodiac stuff?" He arched a brow and shook his head at himself. "I'm sorry for asking so many questions. I'm sure I'm getting on your nerves."

ALL OF A SUDDEN, LIBRA POPS IN FRO M NO WHERE. "HIIIII GUYS!" SHE YELLS CHEERFULLY. "AM I INTERRUPTING SOMETHING?"

"I spend a lot of time at the rapids, practicing a lot of my powers if you consider that cool Zodiac stuff. Uhm-it's honestly mostly just business." She shrugged and then shook her head slightly. "No, no. You're fine. I like questions that I actually know the answer to. It's difficult when I'm constantly being fired questions about politics and foreign affairs." She rolled her eyes, but then smiled back at Alan. "I like your curiosity."

"I practice when it rains or when I'm taking a shower. Mom didn't develop powers. Dad is always working. So, I don't really...know how to work them, as I'm sure you can tell," he tapped his finger on his lips and grinned.

"Okay then...I'm going to leave now..." Stammered Libra awkwardly.

"Well, I'm here to help if you ever have any questions. It's what I'm here for." She gave a faint smile, her head still facing towards her legs, but eyes flashing up at Alan.

((Ah! Rose! I'm so sorry! It didn't even show that you commented until now.))

"Good," he beamed and looked over at Libra. "Is that...Libra?"

Aquarius smiled slightly and then tilted her head up. "What?" She turned around and furrowed her eyebrows, confused as to why Libra was in Aquarius Kingdom. "Uhm, excuse me. Libra?" She asked, walking over to her.

Alan stood up, not knowing what to do exactly. He propped against the table and stood by in case Aquarius needed him.

"Yes, Aquarius?" Libra said, looking up from her novel.

Stepping back a little, Aquarius didn't know what to say. "Well, I was just a little curious as to why you were in the kingdom, is all." She gave Libra a small smile, trying to be polite.

Libra smiled back. "Oh! Sorry. I was just visiting because it's so nice and quiet, a brilliant place to finish my novel. But if you want me to go-"

Aqua's smile widened as she shook her head. "Don't be silly. Please. Stay." She gestured for Chase to hand Libra a coffee. "Stay as long as you'd like."

Alan stared at Libra in awe. "Two originals in one day? Totally awesome." He bounced a little and smiled widely.

Libra laughed at Alan's comment and took a sip of her coffee, which she had changed to tea using magic because she doesn't like coffee. "You can see us whenever if you know where to look."

"I think I'll go to the cafés more often," he said before looking at Aquarius. She was so kind, so pretty. He felt like a mere peasant next to her; which, technically, he was.

Libra laughed at how obviously Alan was in love with Aquarius. She whispered in his ear "She likes daisies. Roses give her a headache." Then, more loudly, "Would you look at the time. I better get back to my own kingdom. It was lovely to see you two. And don't worry, I WILL be back." Then, Libra ran off, book in her hand, brown hair and green fabric trailing behind.

Alan blushed at the flower recommendation. If Libra saw that he liked Aquarius, then Aquarius could probably tell too. He waved goodbye to Libra, even though she wasn't looking, and took his drink in hand.

Aquarius looked between Libra's back and Alan. "Well that was interesting." She chuckled. She noticed Alan's blush, confused, she squinted her eyes a little.

"Indeed," Alan chuckled a bit before taking a sip of coffee. He saw her squint and cocked his head. "What?"

Aqua caught Alan's gaze. He's actually pretty cute. No. Stop. It's forbidden. She shook her head and chuckled to shake it off. "Nothing." She gave him a small smile and took a sip of her coffee while standing aside the booth.

Alan smiled. He felt water running down his hand and jeans. "My gosh. I can't control this," he said grabbing another napkin. "I don't know how you can do this."

"Comes with practice I guess." She walked over to the counter in the cafe and took a small, clean rag. "Here." She held the rag to his hand. She thought about her plans for the day for a second. "What were you planning on doing today?"

"Thank you. I don't really have anything planned, honestly," he said, taking the rag and making sure his hand brushed against hers.
