I'm only in the first few chapters, but I keep noticing that Eureka's mom is referred to by her first name, but her dad is referred to as Dad. Did she not call her mother Mom? I'm wondering what the significance of this might be.

Shes says later on that before her mother died she called her 'mom' but after she just wasn't a mom anymore. "When she was alive I called her mom, like most kids do. But death turned Diana into someone else. She wasn't my mother anymore. She's more than that, and less."
I myself wondered the same thing and then as you did read the answer is in the book for all to see as I said in my review what an enjoyable read and I will be following the story and all the other books Lauren Kate has written and will write in the future.xx
I do too. I Think maybe she wanted to add a bit of depth to the decision to call her Diana, but it didn't really work. You'd think more than ever you'd want to call her mum just to cling on to something....
