New TV Series: WITCHES OF EAST END

I have been a fan and avid reader of MDLC's Blue Blood novel series.
I noticed that there's a new series out on the Lifetime channel now based upon her Witches of east End novels. I haven't read any of the books, and before I do, I was wondering if I should even bother ow that the show is on? Or should I just stick to the book version?

Just read the books. I read where the show is loosely based on the book and from what I remember of the first book the show doesn't really look like the book at all.
I think you should do both because then decided from there. I like the books better, and I treat the show like I do True Blood. It has created a world of its own.
I like the show and the books, but yes the show goes in a completely different direction than the books.
