I didn't like it unfortunately. I absolutely loved the first two and want to pretend this just never happened lol. here is my final review.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm on the fence so far. Loved first 25%. Didn't love next 30%, but liking the last 10%. So the end will decide for me!
It was utterly disappointing. Four was whiny and annoying, you couldn't tell the two POVs apart, the writing was simplistic and disconnected, there was almost zero character development, the plot was underwhelming, and I really don't get the ending. There was very little I liked about Allegiant. For me, it's a very slow and disappointing novel for a series that started out action-packed and amazing.
I finished it on Wednesday and it really fell short of my expectations.
For me the biggest issue was the two POVs, like Jack said, I couldn't tell the two of them apart and that's a huge problem, as I've seen it done well before.
There was hardly any character development, and Tris/Tobias' relationship seemed so hit and miss... they went back to each other for what seemed like no motivation, and they broke up over things that didn't seem as serious as other things that they had stuck with in the past (awkward sentence, apologise!)
All that said, I did like the overall plot/idea, and the Tori/George storyline was really good and heartbreaking. The idea of Amar seemed like an afterthought since his importance to Tobias was never REALLY emphasised.
Still gathering my thoughts about it, but that's my initial reaction.

I thought it was ok. The first two were way better in my opinion and I'm a sucker for happy endings. Hate that it ended the way it did.
I hated it! It was rushed the entire way through and felt like the author had got bored of her characters. The dual perspective was a mistake, she turned Four; the strong and fearless Four, into a simpering over sensitive mommas boy! Mainly the book just angered me.....
I completely agree Elly, I was so disappointing by this book. I haven't been so let down by the last book in a series since Nevermore by James Patterson, a year and a half ago. I'm still excited for the Divergent movie though, not boycotting it like some.

The third book may be a disappointment but doesn't affect my love for the first two and I'm slowly coming round to the idea of Theo James as Four after watching the most recent trailer.
Same here, I'll accept him but I still have my own version of Four in my head which I won't be changing.
Not nearly as good as the first two, but I have come to expect that from the 3rd book in a dystopian series. Once all the dystopian part falls apart, they get to real life and war breaks out I don't love it but the wrap up and answering of questions are neccesary. Didn't love it, didn't hate it.
I'm not sure why she felt the need to switch perspectives though, especially if she was doing a Four series. I just wanted to hear from Tris.
I really couldn't tell the difference between their voices half the time. I think *it'd've been better if Four had a more distinct voice. I guess she had to do Four so that (view spoiler).

Love the abbreviation! Yeah, I couldn't tell them apart either, except Four was a lot whinier. But yeah, you're right about the reason, I suppose, but I think she could've just switched over when absolutely necessary.
It's always weird when the first two books in the series are similar and then the third is totally different. Different setting/ different way of writing (as in the split POVs) But I thought it was pretty good. The ending made me soo mad though!!! Like seriously....>:( haha
The dual POV was confusing and I had to refer to the first page of the chapter to check if the narrator is Tris or Tobias. I didn't like the concept of GP and GD, and I imagined outside world as the fringe, in whole. I guess 2.5 stars out of 5 is a fair rating.
Many people seems to have a lot of negative view on Allegiant, but I loved the book overall. The only thing that bothered me was how Tobias and Tris both sounded identical in their thought processes and whatnot.
I did not like the ending (hated it actually), but I liked the series and i loved the relationship between Four and Tris
Pretty disappointing end to a great series.Roth had the opportunity to make this into a great finale but ultimately failed. The book ended up being too much chatting and thinking and not enough doing. Aside from a couple of action scenes, the pace was slow and the book was stagnant. The fact that there was a dual POV gave the ending away (think about it). As well, the relationship between Tris and Tobias deteriorated in its likability.
Maybe I'm just blind, but I was not completely expecting Tris to die. Overall definitely my least favorite of the three. I felt like she didn't have a solid plan as to how she was going to wrap up the story and explain how things got to the point they were with society.
