I posted this on our FB page and thought it was important to post it here as well.
Veronica Roth is getting a lot of backlash for her newest book Allegiant. I truly believe that it is very important to give honest reviews on books we read. Honest reviews are very important to both other readers who intend on reading the book and the author because it helps them understand where they went right or wrong and will improve their writing for future books.
That being said...There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to bash the author for the choices he/she makes in their books. We may not always agree on how a story is written, but just because it does not go the way we want it to, does NOT take away the authors talent for their creativity and hard work they put into the book.
Bashing an author is no different then a kid bullying someone at school. If you are a member of this page, it must mean you are a lover of books. Why on earth would someone think it's OK to bash any author at any level of their career to the point of making threats, or even saying things about their writing that you would not have said if everything went your way.
I personally am not a fan of how the book ended and I had a few issues here and there with the book. However, that does NOT take away the fact that Veronica Roth is an incredible writer and deserves the respect she has earned by sharing her talent with us. Just like any other author out there who works so hard to bring us stories that we will enjoy. And if we don't enjoy it, it's OK. Realize that you will not like EVERYTHING you read, but please do NOT take it out on the author with personal attacks. Constructive criticism is very important, bashing the author is totally unacceptable. I hope we all learn a very important lesson from this. I know I certainly have.

Couldn't have said it better. Let's be smart readers here and see that the story is complete. That's how sheenvisioned it from the very first book. I loved it. Was I kinda disappointed? Yes, but I see it for what it is. Good story telling, plain and simple. That was genius on Veronica's part. It's mostly the younger readers who are spewing hateful reviews and comments.
