Tim | 4 comments Good afternoon,

I will be participating in an event for local authors at a public library the weekend after next. I plan to have copies of my novel for sale, but I would also like to be able to give away free samples of the book (maybe the first two or three chapters.) My hope is that it'll whet people's appetite for the whole book. I don't want to just hand out photocopied paper stock, but I don't want to drop a ton of money printing mini-paperbacks.

Anyone ever do something like this before? If so, do you have suggestions for a relatively inexpensive but professional handout? Thanks in advance.

Tim | 4 comments I decided to create a PDF of the first three chapters and burn it to CD's that I will give away at the event. It has the book's cover, title and copyright pages, along with the content and a final page with a link to my web site where people can order the book. Not sure how many to burn yet, as I'm not sure what attendance to expect. Checking with the host to see if they have an estimate.

Tim | 4 comments Thanks, Lou. I'll bookmark that site for future reference. I've created .epub and .mobi files in Scrivener to burn to the CD's.
