So for my art book, I read "Blue Princess Takes the Stage". It is about a children's musical theater production. The main character, Emma, wants but doesn't get the main part. The story follows how she handles herself and the role she received. It was a cute book recommended by my daughter.

Getting ready for a 2-week visit to Costa Rica so I'm bringing along 2 books that have been saving.

It was well-written for its time period, but the language style and all the descriptions made it a little hard to read at times. There were some glaring theological problems as well. However, it's a pretty interesting read.

This was well-written and thought-provoking at times; however, there was too much philosophy for me to find it entertaining, and the frame narrative wasn't well developed at all. I also felt that the characters weren't developed as well as they could've been. For being based off the author's real life, there was too much left unexplained.

I'm finally catching up after returning from my cruise at the beginning of the month. I haven't been reading much because of it. Well, the Hallmark Channel's Christmas movies haven't helped either. Hope everyone is doing well.

Whimsy was a wonderful book. Sometimes the point of view changed and I had to re-read to figure out who was telling the story but it is a wonderful picture of small town life.

Ha, funny Sheila that you haven't been reading much because of Hallmark Christmas movies. Neither have I for the same reason. So one book I did manage to read was A Plain and Simple Christmas by Amy Clipston. It is a good Amish fiction book. The book is a good read about family and reconcilation. Great easy read for Christmas.

This was a well-written and intriguing novel. I really found the premise interesting, and I enjoyed the characters. It was a lot of fun to read.

So I finished another Amish Christmas book "Naomi's gift". It was good. I liked the characters and enjoyed seeing what happened to them. I like the interactions between characters in this book and "A Plain and Simple Christmas". Nice read for people ready to get into the Christmas spirit.

This was a well-written and sweet novel. I really enjoyed the characters and look forward to reading the rest of the quartet. It was a lot of fun.

So I just finished a Mitford Christmas box set. It was 2 super short Christmas stories. They were both cute and Esther's Gift reminded us of what really matters at Christmas. Good quick reads. Both took 30 minutes tops.
