Jim walked laney into the hospital I need a doctor Jim asked

A nurse noticed the two of them and walked up. "What seems to be the problem?" She asked.

Laney leaned on him and tried not to throw up.

She's been sick for a couple days now he explained

"Okay, we'll take her into a room and give her a basic examination." The nurse said and helped Laney into an examination room.

Jim waited outside while Lainey was being examined

A few hours later the nurse came out to talk to Jim. "I'm sorry that took so long. It seems that she's perfectly healthy......"

What then why is she vomiting he asked

"I'll let her tell you that if you'll follow me?" She said and beckoned him after her.

He got up he was still a little worried

The nurse led him to the room where Laney was sitting. Laney looked up when they came in then looked back down at her hands.

What's wrong he asked

"Nothing...... I don't know how it happened Jim!" She said, her lip trembling.

What happened he said

She took a breath. "Um..... We're going to have a baby." She said softly.

A shocked look came across his face when she said that

She looked at him cautiously, a scared look on her face. "T-they said somehow the herbs got into my body but I don't know how!"

He thought back the pills he said

Her yes widened. "But.... Wouldn't that doctor have known.....?" She asked.

Possibly he said

"So why would he have given it to you without telling you?..... Wait, what were those pills anyway?" She asked, suddenly afraid of what she had ingested.

He said they were to help you recover from being sick he said

"But.... Where were they?" She asked.

Pain relievers or something idk he said

She put her head in her hands. She was scared of having a child, and why had a doctor given her those herbs?

I'm going to see smith I'm gonna find out who he exactly was

She nodded and looked up at him. "Can we go home first?" She asked since she wasn't allowed to be anywhere without him but his house.

Ok he checked her out of the hospital then took her home

"Thanks." She said and smiled weakly. He hadn't said much, actually anything about the baby and she kept to herself on the way home.

Laney was breathing on her own now but hadn't woken up. Her shoulder had been operated on to fix what the bullet had broken.

Baby Alice was with Jim and had fallen asleep on the way to the hospital.

Jim was carrying Alice and she was sleeping on his shoulder

"I'm guessing you're with the young snake girl?" A nurse said to Jim, looking at Alice on his shoulder.

Yes she is he said carrying her

"She's out of surgery and stable now. You can see her if you like." She said, still eying Alice before shaking herself and showing him to Laney's room.

He walked in there's mama Alice he said calmly

Alice blinked slowly as she woke up and started crying from hunger.

Dam I don't have a bottle with me

Laney stirred and the heart monitor started beeping faster. Her eyes opened slowly and she looked over to where Alice was still crying.

It's ok baby girl it's ok

"Jim..." Laney said faintly. Alice quieted when she heard Laney's voice and squirmed, wanting to be held by her.

He walked over to her there's mama

Laney held out one arm weakly to hold Alice. "Come here baby." She said.

He handed her the baby making sure that she wouldn't drop Alice

"Good baby." She murmured as she carefully fed Alice, trying not to jostle her shoulder much. She hadn't been given pain medication because she wanted to be able to feed her baby.

She looked up at Jim and her lips trembled as she held back tears.

He sat next to her while she fed Alice

When Alice finished Laney lay the child on her chest as comfortably as she could and reached out towards Jim, wanting to touch him.

He held out her hand to her
