This week's read for 52 books in 52 weeks is MAD ABOUT THE BOY: http://amzn.to/1cu2TOx - the new Bridget Jones book - time for something lighter!

Melissa (chicklitcentral) | 49 comments I'm almost finished with it! It's so cute and funny. Has heartfelt moments too. Definitely enjoying it though!

Lynne (lynne_frappier) | 33 comments I loved this book. I honestly thought that Fielding did a great job of "getting back into Bridget" character - 10 years on, she's the same girl ... only with 2 kids. I thought it was a really heartwarming book - Bridget was her usual self - just trying to do everything, fumbling along, making us laugh, making herself stressed. I have to admit that I was totally ok with Mark Darcey being dead. I'd rather we be reading about Bridget trying to move on, as opposed to reading that they are getting divorced, fighting over custody and that all that hope we had for them in the first two books didn't mean a happy ever after. I also thought that his memory was practically a character - it was perfect.

Oh another note ... I did spend a lot of the book thinking "oh goodness, they'll likely make this into a movie, which means that Renee zellweger will gain the weight and then go on a scary diet to loose it all and be even thinner than usual".

Interesting take, Lynne. I get your point about Darcy. I was a little disappointed that Bridget didn't seem to have changed at all, and that a man ends up rescuing her in the end. But I did enjoy it overall.

Suzanne | 12 comments A fun read! I really enjoyed it, lots of comedy and humor, as well as some poignant moments!

Colleen | 13 comments I should read the first 2 Bridget Jones before I read this one to get the most out of it but I'm not sure I want to invest that much time into this series . Maybe I'll read the first one and see how it goes...

I watched the two movies before I finished this book. It was OK. Clever and sweet, but not really that funny.
