NaNoWriMo is upon us, so this month's question is... Do you write? What do you write? Have you ever tried to publish? Do you WANT to write a novel but haven't tried it yet? Let's talk about writing because without authors... we'd have no books. ;)

Yes I write.

I think I read about writing and talk about writing more than I write. I started with YA, but then I went into writing fan fiction. It has a much more friendly community than what I've found with aspiring writers. There is one writing community outside of fan fiction I like and it is at scribophile.

I do want to try and get published some day, but my writing isn't there yet.

Fandoms unite!

I got my start in fan fiction way on back when and just gave a presentation at a workshop about fandom communities and how (most) are encouraging and collaborative and wonderful. A lot of it was about encouraing fandom in the library.

Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year, Jo?

It was going to be one of my fest fics, but I am so behind I haven't even started it yet. :/

I think I'll just see how many words I get in general and forget about it being all one story.

Misty (mommykayjr) | 4 comments I used to write a lot of poetry as a teenager and pretty sparingly now, but I have a binder with over 100 poems. I have never been published but Did try to submit them into contests before.
Also, I read books with a pen in hand :) I am a very avid note taker. Does anyone else do this?

Yes, Misty...I do. Although it depends on the book. Sometimes I don't take notes but most time I do.

April | 16 comments I love to write when I feel inspired. It is such a spiritual experience.

You can tell she's serious because of the exclamation points! :) Ps. They make me super happy. (!!!)
