I'm dying to get my hands on this book. Unfortunately I've got a crazy work schedule now and I don't know how soon I can read it. Agh!
I'm extremely looking forward to this book, I just hope the author didn't mess it up like Veronica Roth did with Allegiant...
The Passionate Bookworms are giving away a signed copy of Champion by Marie Lu. http://thepassionatebookworms.com/cha...
US ONLY
Just finished reading it. LOVED it! Still wiping the years from my eyes, but I really enjoyed the ending. At the same time I wish there'd been a little more to it! lol But I have lived this series from the beginning. Hopefully Ms. Lu writes something new soon, I think she's got a great style to her work.
Marie Lu's writing really kmproved. I loved the book. The ending was not as I expected. It was amazing and totally not cliché but I wasn't exactly happy wih it and I kinda felt like I wanting more June and Day bec of that ending.
I really enjoyed this book. This was definitely the best book out of the entire series. There were so many twists that made me surprised in this book. I enjoyed every second of it.
I love it!!! I really enjoyed read this book. its sooo addicted. I just hope Marie Lu can wrote more, you know couple time in her books. Cause we need- I NEED more Day and June section part :(This series is totally on top of my fav book for dystopian genre. I mean who can resist Day's charm. Not me of course ;)
This was definitely my favorite book of 2013. I really hope Marie Lu will right another book about Day and June. It would be really cool to see how America develops afterwards too
I am currently reading this book. I have been in love with these books but I am dreading finishing it, I really don't want to be disappointed!!!
This is one of the BEST books ever!!!!! Honestly amazing. The ending was perfect in every way, unlike many other dystopian trilogies. It ripped me apart while also making me whole inside :P
Riya wrote: "This is one of the BEST books ever!!!!! Honestly amazing. The ending was perfect in every way, unlike many other dystopian trilogies. I finished the book two days ago, but still enjoying a reader's high from the series. *le sigh*

And yeah I definitely agree with you too!
It's very well written and I especially loved the little spoiler Marie gave us about the ending. (The conversation where Day confesses he'd have liked to meet June on the street as a normal teen) and he's got his wish granted. These two heroes made the dystopian world described look survivable.
I totally love that too Xzellaz! You might wanna add a spoiler thing to that though- just in case :)
I liked that it was different than most dystopian in that they didn't end up overthrowing the "evil" government - they reformed it.
I agree. I was thinking that Marie Lu was going to have the Republic overthrown... but that's not how it turned out!
i read it last month and i thought the beginning was a litle slow but it was AMAZING at the end...i was sobbing
Perfect ending. So emotional too!!! It was definitely the best book of the series and I would recommend it to anybody! I wipe my tears away once in a while remembering the ending. But anyways, amazing!
I really enjoyed the trilogy. However I think many events in the plot are predictable. It takes a while for those events to happen and you begin to think your ideas are wrong. Then they occur. As I read the trilogy I found it difficult to stop reading. The futuristic story revealed an intriguing new way of life.Lu brings the story to a satisfying end
I read this a while ago and i absolutely loved it. I cried so much at the end but it was worth it. This is one of my all time favorite books.
It did have a sad ending...but there's still room for hope.In fact, I found a fanfic someone was writing to serve as a sequel, in which we explored June and Day reuniting...except they decided to go on hiatus and haven't updated in a month or so.

Oh I'm not a big fan of that idea. I like the unknown I guess!
You know, I don't like to be a prick, but I'd give the book 4.95 stars. Yes I know how perfect the book was to know that 0.05 less stars makes you bad! As everything else has said the positive, the only complaints I have is some out of character bits and some vague areas.
But really, in terms of description, it's just, and I mean that in world building, beautiful. The antarctican system, how they're all South Americans.
Don't you think they're in a Cold War with Africa?
And the republic is actually communist? And Antarctica too?
HAVE WE SUPPORTED THE SOVIET UNION!!??!
I don't mind that we could've possibly supported the Soviet Union, in terms of ideology. I'm just putting it across as a possible interpretation. One could see this as a parallel to the Korean War. The comm, and the capi, sides are both there. They used to be one country but are seperated by differing ideologies. This happened in the cold wAr. Just saying, it's an interpretation.
I read the books really soon after they came out, even Legend, so I had longer to wait for the books :(. In the end, I tried to re-read the series, but I don't normally do this, so I only re-read legend
Amazing.I cried by the way. A part of me remains broken and satisfied at the same time. Geez. I'm gonna miss Day and Junebug.
I swear, I want a final novella about the future.
I loved how this series didn't have a disappointing ending (like most, and in my opinion, Allegiant.)The ending made me cry

Champion is amazing. It's one of those weird cases where the ending/last book of a series is actually good. And Marie Lu(the author) made me cry even when no one died! (view spoiler)

To me the Divergent series:
Divergent: Ooh, this is pretty bad-ass. Can't wait till I can read the next book.
Insurgent: What went wrong?
Tobias: Tris, don't do that.
Tris: Yolo
Allegiant: I applaud you for the craptastic book,
Tris: FOUR, WHY CAN'T YOU SEE I'M ALWAYS RIGHT?!
I want to read Life Before Legend so bad but I can't seem to find it anywhere (*cries in a corner*)
I can't wait for Young Elites. Marie Lu is such a good writer and a drawer.

Overall, I don't think I'll be reading any series from Veronica Roth soon. She seems to only get the first part of it right and mess up the rest. How about you?
Ugh. I don't like ordering books online. I rather buy it or borrow it on the spot. I am a very impatient person.
XD Some reviews have her drawings on goodreads. Here's a link of her drawings on google if you don't feel like sifting through reviews.
https://www.google.com/search?q=marie...
The first 2 rows are her drawings. After those rows, most of it is just random things under that category for some reason.
Priscila wrote: "Himuro wrote: "Priscila wrote: "Himuro wrote: "Priscila wrote: "Himuro wrote: "Priscila wrote: "@Himuro Oh my god yes. I hated Allegiant. So so so disappointing. Yeah, Champion was amazing and the ..."After Divergent, it became less apparent that Four and Tris were a couple. I mean, where did it all go? Where was those lovey dovey couples.
I agree, Divergent wasn't the best plot thought up of but it was written in a captivating way. Oh Veronica Roth, did you lose experience within the time you wrote the last two books. And I even bought the last two books. Damn. Waste of money (and they were like 18 bucks apiece).
That's why the Legend series deserves 5+/5 stars. Marie Lu kept the conflicts, suspense, love, plot, action, etc. coming.
I actually don't mind getting it from the library. I'd rather have a copy of it myself or a friend lending it to me. I never have over due books because my dad and I are more of the worrying people in my family so we always remember when to return the books; we always double check the dates. The problem for me is if the book is available at the library or how I can't renew the book because other people have it on hold even though I want to reread that book for like 6 weeks worth.
She went above and beyond.
And sorry for my picture-less responses. I still haven't figured out how to add a photo. I'm new to the whole reviews and comments thingy-majigs.
I practically understand everything except for the images.I know, thanks though~!

That was weird. It worked for me. I was just testing it out. Last time I tried, I typed the width, height, and src on my own. This time I just copied what goodreads gives you and change the link. By any means you know, what does the "alt" do to affect the picture (like where it says alt="description") and does it affect whether or not I'm able to post the picture?
And the characters in Marie Lu's books actually developed. You can read/see how June and Day became more mature whereas in Divergent it was the other way around. And Marie Lu made the slightly/kind of typical dystopian plot and added more conflicts and changes to make it original and interesting.
