Does Dec. 31 count as part of these games or do the games start at midnight (Jan. 1)? It doesn't really matter; I'm just curious because we usually start on the first.
Question ... in each week ... do we read ONE book (finish & start within the time frame) that meets the challenge/obstacle. Or can we read more than one book as long as it still fits the challenge/obstacle?
Quick question -should we post all books we read, even if they don't fit in the challenge? Or if we don't quite finish the book in the time frame? I'm just a little confused about how this works exactly, because I know total pages read it part of the "race".
BUMP .... can this be "pinned" to the top of the folder. There are several questions that have been asked and not answered ... I think it may have gotten buried.
I am new to this group, but this looks interesting. If you need a backup player if someone drops out, I will put my name on the list.
Amber- The books need to be at least 100 pages in order to count as a full book! That way we can't read a bunch of little books. Also the reason why we are counting pages as the total when seeing who the winner is!
Book Concierge- I have been in school and finals, therefore I was unable to answer questions. I still see them, and I answer them as I can. You can read as many as your heart desires. As long as that books is started in that week.
Amber- Audio books count, yes. :)
RebeccaS- The books you post should only be part of the challenge. If you read a book that doesn't fit the obstacle for that week, it cannot count. I have set specific guidelines in order to keep you as close to the "schedule" as possible. But if you do not finish, don't worry. As long as the book is started during that week it will be fine.

I will double check the losing, and of there is a spot, I will let you know!

Red Team will more than likely have at least one open spot. Just FYI. =)

Or four. :P
Another question: lets say you read three books by men during male authors week, do you list all of them in your log or just pick one?

Put all of them! You want to read as many books as possible!

Yay! Going now to reserve my post.
I have question about book to film week. I know the movie has to have been in theaters already, but is there such a thing as having been in theaters too long ago to count?
Great question Amber. Absolutely not! It can be a contemporary adaptation, or one that is very much old! Thanks for asking

Yes there will be another race sometime towards the middle of the year!

IMPORTANT:
I want to make clear for books for this Race. It is a weekly challenge race! So you have to get through at least half, or so, of the book for the book to count for the designated book. SO yes, indeed the books can roll through. If it makes it easier, add your date when you started for extra designation! And even better, if it doubles up (i.e. I am reading Breakfast at Tiffany's by Capote for my Free For All - BUT I didn't finish. But the second week is Male Authors, therefore it rolls over and i don't have to worry!)
The point of this Race/Game is to broaden and challenge a little bit more. Its harder to designate certain books but in a good way!
Good luck!

Thanks for this info. Rachel. I hadn't any of the books I've been reading for the first week because I knew I wouldn't have them finished in the week. Now I can add them and gain something for my efforts.
Am I right in assuming that I can't award points for the book read if I haven't completed it?
