You're doing a great job Dawn, even with bigger books !
I haven't released a hearty breath and dug into those yet. I'm in two chunkster groups too; likely the common one with you. Three hundred pages are my mainstay but I own a lot of big tomes, thus it is good for me to crack additional pages. Wish me luck! Carolyn
Long books terrify me so much! Something about that much commitment and I go running the other direction!!
Haha I actually do the same thing! Once I get into a long book I'm completely fine but picking it up to start reading? Scary stuff!
its always the size of the actual book that I find off putting - I love epic length novels, I just find them impossible to get comfortable holding

The Spring of the Ram by Dorothy Dunnett ★★★★★"Great book, isn't it? I love the Niccolo series :) One of my personal challenges this year is to reread Dunnett's Lymond series, which is also marvelous although a bit more difficult reading.
Hi Dawn! You mentioned in your TBR Check-in that you like the 60s & 70s covers for Agatha Christie books - you would love my books then!! I have paperbacks of mysteries (including many Christies) from the 1950s to the 90s. I took boxes of books from my parents' house when they moved to a smaller place (one reason why I have so many TBR!) :)I like the Dell book covers best, I think...
Have you seen the first banner mascot for "My Kind Of Mystery", this inaugural year? :) Like I'm sure Bev does, I have a great deal of fun thinking what the next image would be: this year, next year... Oh how I love pre-1980s covers. http://cmriedel.wordpress.com/mykindo...
Thank you! :) To attract a nice ambience for my group, I wanted something that looked very mysterious. I took have a wonderful collection of not only pre-1990s paperbacks but hardcovers too. That's how I end up with prize or trading giveaways; a softcover is now a duplicate. Or if I didn't like a story enough to keep.
