It was the evening at the Mckinstry Manor and Poppy was making dinner in the kitchen before her daughters and husband came home. She'd been worrying about her two youngest daughters as they haven't gained their powers yet and worried if they weren't ready.

Perdita came from her friend house. She and her friends had been discussing which party to attend next. There were some good ones being thrown.

Poppy heard the door close, "In here," she called out to who ever it was but she knew it was one her children.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Perdita walked into the kitchen. " Hey mum," she said. She didn't really have a good relationship with either of her parents as she felt they were always having a go at her.

As being an empath she can always sense others emotions and right now she could feel her daughter's but the only way to help her was to show some motherly love, "Hi honey, how was school?" she asked her, "Are you hungry? I have some buttered bread rolls in the oven," she said.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

" School was fine and Yes I am," she said flatly not putting any emotion into her voice. She sat down at the kitchen table.

Poppy went over to the oven and pulled out two bread rolls placing it on a plate in front of Perdita. She looked at her daughter and sat at the table with her. She hated lying to her always about the family's true nature. She knew that she's seen some unusual things in her past without any explanation.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

" Thank you," she replied taking a bite out of the roll. It was really good. If there was one thing about her mum it was that she was a good cook.

(( Night))

She nodded her thanks, "Perdita there's something i need to show you, it's time you knew the truth about our family," she said having deja vu from when she said this to her eldest daughter Claudia.

((Goodnight))

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

" Okay..." She said curiously. She wondered what her mother wanted to show her. As the youngest child of her parents she had always felt like the odd one out and that everyone else knew something she didn't.

Poppy stood and took off her apron with a deep breath, "The reason all those times you asked about our ancestry for one of your school projects or just out of curiosity we didn't say and you asked why, well, follow me," she said walking out the kitchen and up the stairs and stopped at the attic door.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Perdita was a little confused and a bit excited, she would finally in out what had been kept from her. She followed her mother to the attic.

She looked down at her daughter and gave her a warm smile before placing her hand on the doorknob, "This door was never jammed, we only wanted to reveal the book to you until you were ready," she turned it and it opened for her. She walked into the attic that she hasn't been in for a long time where dust has been created on surfaces. Poppy walked over to an ancient chest with markings all over it and opened it pushing off cloths from a old emerald leather bound book. She carries it over to a stand under the light from the window and waves her daughter towards it.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Perdita watches her mother curiously. What was so important about a book? She walks forwards when her mother beacons her. She couldn't see anything special about the book apart from the fact it looked old. "What's so important about this book?" she asks.

message 16: by ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ (new)

ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ | 124 comments Mod
She smiles at her and leads her around in front of the stand where the book sits and she walks opposite her and places her hands on it's leather fragile cover, "The Book of Shadows, often just referred to as The Book, is the magical tome of our Line of Witches. It is the most powerful and coveted of the Books of Shadows in the whole world and is over 300 years old. The Book has been passed down every generation ever since it was created by our ancestor in the 17th century," she said to her, "Besides all the information about the craft, the Book contains many entries on several beings from the magical community, including demons, warlocks, and other demonic beings. It also contains many spells and potion recipes, most of which were written by my mother, your grandmother," she has never talked about her their ancestors, let alone her deceased mother and grandmother.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

She was shocked. "But witches aren't real. It can't be possible," she said. She wondered if her mother had finally gone of the rails. It was too much like Supernatural or the Vampire diaries.

Feeling her emotions she tried to calm her down, "Perdita darling, i know deep down you always knew there was something different about this family, and this is it. I know we shouldn't of kept it from you for this long, trust me we got all the lectures from your.." she was about to say grandmother but she was already shocked of being a witch who knows how she would take the true nature of her grandmother, "Nevermind but the thing is, this is you. This is who you are and i can't hold that from you any longer," she said.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"Do my older sisters know?" she said starting to believe her mother a little bit. She had known that there was something strange that her parents were keeping from her. She also wondered if there were witches and demons what else was out there. Were there vampires, angels, werewolves and whatever other supernatural creatures were in books? Were they all real?

((I made her the middle sister since i just kind of forced you into being the youngest and thought it was unfair on you so yeah.))

"Claudia knows but little Mildred has no clue," she said, "Your not fully a witch," she told her completely forgetting she doesn't know what she means.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

((I don't mind being the youngest. In fact I prefer playing the youngest :) ))

"Huh? what does that mean. Am I half witch and half vampire or something?" she asked confused. She had no idea what her mother was talking about. If she wasn't a full witch than what was she?

message 22: by ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ (new)

ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ | 124 comments Mod
((Okay))

"No, no, you are a witch, just a witch, but you haven't got your powers yet. Well you did but...your father and i thought it was best to strip you and your siblings of your powers when you were born. We thought it was best but we were wrong to keep you from what you are," she said.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

(( :) ))

"Is there a way to get them back? Does Claudia have hers?" she asked horrified. Why would her parents take away part of who she was? It wasn't fair and it wasn't right.

"No, none of you do," feeling her anger and horrification she says, "You have to understand that being a witch is dangerous, very dangerous. Remember how i told you about Aunt Penelope? How she died in a car accident? That wasn't true, she...she died protecting an innocent from a demon," she said finding it hard to talk about her sister, "Perdita," she said taking her daughter's hands into hers, "You will get your powers...but all in good time. First i want to start your's and your sister's training," she told her.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Perdita wretched her hand away from her mother. "You had no right to take them away. I want my powers back and then I will start this training of yours. I don't care how dangerous it is," she said angered. She wanted her powers back whatever they happened to be.

Poppy closed her eyes for a second, hadn't felt so much anger from her own child, "Our family has gone through enough hardships losing so many lives because of this. It was wrong to keep your abilities from all of you but i can assure you our intentions well intended. I'll give you your powers but on one condition," she said.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

"Maybe so but you still shouldn't have done it and what is the condition?" she asked. She wouldn't agree to the condition till she knew what it was. She also hoped that their wasn't a lot of research involved in this training.

"That your sister are by your side so you all gain your abilities," she said waiting for her response. She had to agree anyway as she was the only on who knew how it works.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

"Fine." she said. She didn't have a problem with that even if she didn't get on with any of her siblings. They deserved to have their powers back and along as they left her alone she didn't really care.

"Good," she said, "Want to take a look?" she asked her looking at the book under fingers then to her.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yes please," she said. She may hate research but there had to be some interesting things in here that she wouldn't be able to know unless she read it.

Poppy smiled at her daughter's enthusiasm and nodded opening the book to her letting her take the "reigns".

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Perdita flipped the pages till she came to a page about spirit magic. It looked rather interesting. Apparently you could raise the dead.

ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ | 124 comments Mod
((Ressurection isn't possible for witches, but to summon the dead can be done.))

"This ritual summons the dead from the afterlife, bringing them into the physical world in the form of a spirit. When they step out of the circle of candles, the spirit will corporealize," she said telling her.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Perdita nodded. " Sounds interesting. That would be classed as necromancy right?" She asked.

message 36: by ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ (new)

ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ | 124 comments Mod
"Yes, necromancy indeed," she said with a smile that she is learning.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

She smiled glad that she had got something right. "So what types of powers do you have and do you know what mine are?" she asked curiously.

message 38: by ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ (new)

ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ | 124 comments Mod
"No i don't know what your powers are but i can tell you they will be strong and powerful. I have the power of empathy, premonition and levitation. They are good and strong powers with other abilities attached to them," she said to her, "But it took a lot to harness them,"

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

She nodded. She was curious about her own abilities. " Sounds fun" she said thinking of what it would be like to be able to fly.

message 40: by ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ (new)

ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ | 124 comments Mod
"Soon," she said knowing what she was thinking as she and her were one and the same. Poppy was just like her the rebellious one in her family. "There are potions and spells to vanquish evil beings that dwell the surface and terrorise innocents,"

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

She nodded not sure what to say to that. She was more interested about what parties to go to and how to annoy her sisters. She was also interested in rebelling and the easiest way to get her parents cross at her.

message 42: by ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ (new)

ƬHΣ ΜƱЅΣ | 124 comments Mod
Poppy slapped the book closed, "I think that's enough for today, darling," she said with a smile. "I need to finish with dinner anyway," she said walking away, "Perdita i am trusting you in telling you about the book. I'm going to keep it there and i want nothing to be done besides reading it...in your head. I don't want it moving from there," she said as she left for the kitchen.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Perdita nodded. It wasn't worth risking her parents wrath for there were plenty of other stuff she could do to anger them.
