Pamela | 36 comments Missed the Bookclub. Forgot to change the date of the meeting and missed it. Hope it was a good one. Are we reading a book for December? I see The Orphan's Master now listed on Goodreads and was wondering .
Thanks.

Jim (therapon24601) | 139 comments that is for january. we have a Christmas party on thursday dec 12. britney can get you the details.

Kristien | 34 comments I finally finished Mermaids in the Basement today. I have to admit the last part of the book was decidedly better than the first 2/3 of it. But it doesn't totally make up for the annoying slow and confusing beginning of the book. And I still don't get the mermaids in the basement thing. Mermaids: ok, there are lots of references to mermaids. The basement: the author says it refers to Renata's depression. A bit far fetched in my opinion. Anyway, at the end of the book the loose ends are mostly tied up and it leaves you somewhat satisfied. But mainly it leaves you happy you're done with it.

Joan Lehrer (sugar1spice) I could not get through it. Just finhished The Goldfinch which was way too long and not as good as her first. What is Jan and when is the meeting. I keep missing them.

I felt the same way about being mostly happy that it was over. What are you reading now?

Sorry we missed you! We're not meeting in December for the book club except for the Book Swap Party on December 6th. Did you receive the email evite for it? The Orphan Master's Son is the book for the January meeting (January 28th).

Kristien | 34 comments I just finished "A Rule against Murder" by Louise Penny and now I started "The Brutal Telling" also by Louise Penny.
