I'm doing NaNo and just started my second story this November. Alone in the first chapter I almost strangled my main character to death. Twice! No what does that say about me... xD
She's already a stuck-up bitch, though. I sent someone to save her and she didn't even say thank you. How on earth should I get those two together? They're so different and already being so difficult, grrr! The second strangling came to pass when the guy walked away after saving her because she didn't thank him and the evil one came at her again. He waited until she called for his help to get him off her. Yeah, what a gentleman... -.-
I'm so far behind on nano it hurts. I also made the mistake of giving my protagonist severe OCD and now I'm starting to develop a mild case as well. -_-
Just start somewhere! You can write what happened before later or take out parts you don't need. Just start!
So I'm mine is like the past except it's altered to have an early tech fail all over and so its reversed to steampunk world where the main characters are based off of certain characters and the main romance is going to be between the two based off of Cheshire and Peter Pan and everyone lives in an asylum because they have mental things that have labeled them unfit to live in a regular society and etc
That sounds wicked cool, Boo :) I'm trying to come up with steampunk ideas recently but ehh, not so successful
So, today is the writing marathon. Is anyone participating? I'm super behind, so this is a good opportunity to get myself together here and get back on track. The only thing is, I'm writing a transition part right now and I hate it. I hate it hate it so much, but it needs to be there so my story can make sense.
Skip the transition! Go on to the next part and knock out a whole bunch of writing. If you write something you hate, it's going to slow you down. So just go back to that part at a different time. And who knows? Maybe writing the rest of your book will inspire you
I'm at 23 576 words! I'm pretty happy! I hope I can finish NaNo this year; I did Camp last year, but I had four days where I couldn't write because I was away (only reason I didn't finish it, which is kind of annoying, but the trip was fun, so it was worth it)

Suppose you want to talk about it, but in other groups there's, duh, no one cool enough to talk about it with.
That's why you talk about it here!
So who's doing the challenge? We'd love to hear about your story; exchange advice, and spring you along the process.
